We are providing you with the latest exam pattern and detailed NIACL AO syllabus 2021 Prelims & Mains exam syllabus which is set by the New India Assurance Company Limited. It is critical to have a thorough understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus so that you can direct your preparation accordingly.
NIACL has published a job advertisement online for 300 Generalist positions as Administrative Officers (Scale - I). Online registration will be available from September 1st to September 21st, 2021. The dates for the Preliminary phase are yet to be announced. Let us now look at the complete details of NIACL AO 2021.
NIACL AO Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2021
The NIACL AO exam 2021 will be conducted in the following phases -
1. Phase I - Preliminary Exam (Objective))
2. Phase II - Mains Exam (Objective + Descriptive)
3. Interview

NIACL AO 2021 Exam Pattern (Prelims)
- Phase 1 Online Exam will be conducted for a total of 100 Marks.
- A sectional Time limit of 20 minutes.
- The detailed exam pattern for the Prelims Exam is given as follows.

- Candidates have to qualify for each test/section by securing passing marks to be decided by the company.
- An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Company (approximately 15 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
- There is a negative marking of 1/4 marks assigned to the question for each wrong answer marked by the candidate.
NIACL AO Mains Exam Pattern 2021
- The main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Tests for 30 marks.
- Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online.
- Immediately after completion of the Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be started.
- Mains Exam Pattern is different for Generalist which you can find below -
A. Online Objective Exam Pattern For Generalist

Note: Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section of the objective test separately for shortlisting for the Descriptive test evaluation and for shortlisting for the Interview.
B. Descriptive Test Pattern :
- The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language
- Letter Writing is of 10 marks & Essay will be of 20 marks).
- The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted online mode.
- Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer.
Note:
- Descriptive answer script would be evaluated only in respect of those candidates who qualify for the objective test. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided for Descriptive paper evaluation.
- A candidate shall be required to qualify in the descriptive test, but the marks in the descriptive test will not be counted towards shortlisting for an interview or final selection.
Descriptive exam would consist of the following -
1. Letter Writing - 10 marks
2. Essay - 20 marks
