KSET Selection Process 2021 Official Detail

Mysore University has kept the KSET Selection Process 2021 almost similar to the ones used in SET exams of other states in India. The selection procedure follows the rules specified by the UGC, New Delhi. Candidates have to take an exam and score beyond the fixed cutoff marks to be considered eligible for the selection procedure. The candidates will have to be among the top 6% qualifiers to be considered for the receiving of the KSET certificate. The detailed KSET selection process is given below.

If you have applied for KSET Exam 2021, as per the KSET Selection Procedure you need to take the test consisting of two papers, namely, Paper 1 and Paper 2. You can choose any one of 41 prescribed subjects for appearing in the exam. The KSET application form 2021 is now open. 

KSET Selection Process 2021 (All Phases)

There are three steps in the KSET Selection Process 2021. All of them are described below.

Step – 1: Appearing candidates need to obtain minimum marks in aggregate of all two papers- Paper 1 and 2.

Step – 2: A merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the number of candidates who cleared Step I on the basis of aggregate marks of both papers

Step – 3: The reservation policy prevailing in the State will be used to work out the category-wise qualifying slots available for eligibility for Assistant Professor.

KSET Minimum Qualifying Marks & Merit List

Candidates must score minimum marks in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 as per their reservation categories. After the candidate scores the minimum qualifying marks and cutoff, KSET result is declared in the form of KSET Merit List. KSET Merit List

The University Of Mysore announces the KSET Merit List after completion of the exam cycle. The merit list contains the list of candidates who successfully qualifies the KSET exam. 

KSET Paper Exam Pattern

The test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type or Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). The test shall be held on 11th April 2021, in two separate sessions on the same day. The KSET Exam Pattern Paper 1 and KSET Exam Pattern Paper 2 are given below. Paper 1 will comprise of 50 multiple choice compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks. The given questions will be general and would intend to assess your teaching and research aptitude. KSET Exam Pattern Paper 1 is designed to test your comprehension, reasoning ability, general awareness, and divergent thinking.

Paper 2 will comprise 100 multiple choice compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks. The KSET Exam Pattern Paper 2 will be based on the subject selected by you.

  • For each subject, only 6% top candidates clearing KSET shall be declared ‘Pass’ in the examination. The selection of candidates for the 6% slot shall be based as per the reservation rules and policies.

  • For general category 40% aggregate and for reserved categories, 35% aggregate in both the KSET papers is required to pass.
