The official of the Indian Air Force, IAF, describes eligibility norms, which include the Air Force age limit, educational qualification, nationality, marital status, etc. Candidates failing to fulfill the Indian Air Force Group X Y Eligibility Criteria 2022 won't be entertained further.

According to the recruitment notification, only unmarried male candidates from India and Nepal can apply for the exam. The candidates need to fulfill all the aforementioned Air Force eligibility to proceed further with the selection process for the exam.

Air Force Age Limit: Group X Y Eligibility

As per Air Force Group eligibility criteria, those interested in applying for this exam must fall in the mentioned age range. Candidates exceeding the Air Force age limit will not be considered eligible for the exam. The Indian Air Force age limit for Group X and Group Y, as per the IAF officials are as follows:

  • Only candidates born between 16 Jan 2001 and 29 Dec 2004 are eligible to apply.
  • In some cases, where a candidate clears all the selection stages, the upper age limit as of the date of enrolment is 21 years.

Air Force Eligibility: Educational Qualification

Air Force educational qualification is the basic requirement for candidates who wish to apply for the upcoming exam. The Air Force eligibility criteria for education differ per Group X and Group Y for which the candidates have applied. A candidate must have one of the following Air Force educational qualifications to fill out the application form and sit in the examination.

  • Group X (Except Education Instructor Trade): A candidate must have passed a 10+2/ equivalent exam with Mathematics, Physics & English along with an aggregate of 50% along with 50% aggregate in English as well. Also, the candidate must have passed 3 years diploma course in Engineering in any stream with 50% marks aggregate & 50% marks in English.
  • Group Y (Except IAF(S) and Musician Trades): A candidate must have passed the 10+2/ equivalent exam with Mathematics, Physics & English with an aggregate of 50% along with 50% aggregate in English.
  • Airforce Y Group Qualification (Medical Assistant Trade Only): A 10+2/Intermediate/ equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with an aggregate of 50% along with 50% aggregate in English.

Note: Candidates eligible for Group X examination are also eligible for Group Y and would have the choice of appearing for both Group X and Group Y exams. Diploma holders are eligible to appear for Group X trades only. Also, the rounding off of marks/percentage is not allowed i.e considering 49.99% as 50% is not applicable.

Another essential component of Air Force eligibility is physical fitness. An applicant must meet minimal standards and be physically and mentally healthy.
