The Mica producing district in West Bengal is Purulia. 

  • Purulia and Bankura, both districts of West Bengal are famous for Mica deposits. 
  • West Bengal states account for approximately one-fifth (⅕) of the total mineral production. 
  • It is the 3rd largest producer of minerals in India. 
  • Mica is formed in igneous rocks and metamorphic rocks. It is occasionally also found as small flakes in sedimentary rocks as well.
