MH CET Law (5 yr) Exam consists of a total of 150 questions which is divided into five sections. The total duration of the exam is 120 minutes.

  • A +1 mark is assigned to each correct answer.
  • No negative marking of wrong answers.

MH CET Law Syllabus: 5-Year B.A. LLB

The following sections of the syllabus include the topics which are asked in the MAH CET 5 Years LLB examination. Go through all topics and start focusing on them.

i) Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning:

  • This section is to test the candidate’s interest in the study of Law, Legal aptitude, and problem-solving ability.
  • Questions framing is done with the help of legal prepositions also the prepositions have to be implemented to a set of facts.
  • Some prepositions may be false in the actual sense.
  • Candidates will be required to assume that stated prepositions are true and will have to answer the questions forming well-supported conclusions.

ii) General Knowledge of Current Affairs:

  • The topics such as History (Ancient, Medieval, and Modern), Economics, General Science, Civics, Geography, and the Current Affairs of the past year.
  • This subject will assess the awareness of recent events and knowledge of the world.

iii) Logical and Analytical Reasoning:

  • This subject will test a candidate’s ability to recognize patterns, and logical connections, and improve illogical arguments. It will cover wide analogies, drawing well-supported conclusions, completing arguments, reasoning by analogy, and applying rules or principles.
  • Further, this subject will measure the capability to understand the relationship, and structure and to illustrate logical conclusions of the structures. It involves reasoning deductively from the set of statements and rules or principles that explain the relationship among persons, things, or events.

iv) English:

  • This section will consist of questions on the areas like Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Analogies, etc.) Proficiency (Idioms and Phrases, One-word Substitution, Sentence Improvement, and rearrangement, fill in the blanks, etc) English Usage Errors (Common errors, Spotting errors, inappropriate usage of words, spelling mistakes, etc.) English Comprehension.

v) Mathematical Aptitude:

  • This section is to test the numerical ability of candidates.
  • The mathematics questions will be set from 10th Std. The topics included in the syllabus are Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, Average, and Venn Diagram.

MH CET 2023 Law Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the following eligibility before filling out the MH CET Law 2023 Application form.

  • Indian Candidates having completed 10th & 12th from outside Maharashtra belonging to all categories are eligible.

  • Candidates should pass 10th and 12th from Maharashtra & have a Maharashtra domicile or were born in Maharashtra belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community within the State as issued by the Govt are eligible to apply.

  • Those who fulfill the eligibility given for the NRI candidates are eligible. They don’t have to apply for CET.

  • Those who are from J&K to any part of India or from unsafe border areas of J&K can apply.

Candidates can apply through only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature which is mentioned as

  • The candidate should be born in Maharashtra or have a domicile in the state.

  • The father or mother of a candidate is domiciled in the state of Maharashtra.

  • The father or mother of a candidate is employed in the Government of India or posted or reported in duty in Maharashtra State before the last date of submission application form for CAP.

  • The father or mother of a candidate is an employee of Maharashtra or the Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

  • Candidates who passed the 10th or 12th  or equivalent examination from a recognized institution from a divided Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

Age Criteria

  • Lower Age Limit: The age limit should be 20 years (22 years for SC/ST of Maharashtra only) as of 1st July 2023.

  • Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to appear in both exams.

Qualification Criteria

For 5 years LLB course

Qualifying Exam: The candidate must pass the 10th and 12th examinations from the recognized board of Maharashtra state or from outside.

Minimum Marks:

  • Candidates must have 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam (40% marks for reserved categories of Maharashtra state).

  • Candidates, who complete their 12th class from the Distance or Correspondence method, can also apply (gap of not less than Two Years between 10th  and 12th ).

  • Candidates who obtained 10 Std./Secondary Schooling Certificate Examination, in a Single Sitting Examination without having any Basic Qualification (1st To 9th Standard of Schooling) are not eligible.

  • Appearing Candidates are also eligible to apply.
