Is CTET Compulsory for PGT Exams? The Central Teacher Eligibility Test Examination is a PAN India Examination in which aspirants have to qualify for the CTET Examination to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in KVS, NVS, and DSSSB Schools. These candidates need to complete a 2-year B.Ed Degree course to become eligible to apply for the PGT posts.

  • B.Ed or equivalent degree from a recognized university

So, the is No! CTET is not compulsory for the PGT Post. The Central Teachers Eligibility Test is conducted for the PRTs and TGTs. Unlike TGTs and PRTs, the candidates who have completed their Post Graduate do not have to appear for the CTET Exam to become eligible for the recruitment exams. The candidates must complete their B.Ed course as mandatory eligibility.

Importance of CTET Certificate

CTET is mandatory to qualify to become a teacher in private and government schools. After qualifying, CTET candidates can apply to any private school, or government-aided school, and even can apply to an Army school.
