Disqualification
A person who has documented into or contracted a marriage with another person who has a living spouse shall not be eligible for an appointment. Similarly, despite having a living spouse, a person who has joined into or contracted marriage with another person shall not be qualified for an appointment. Nevertheless, the Controlling Authority sees that such marriage is permissible, then immunities may be made.
IRMS Selection Method
- For most posts, the recruitment shall be done based on the promotion.
- Only for Level 10 or Junior Time Scale that 50% of the vacancies will be filled by the direct recruitment of the Civil Services Examination (CSE).
- The staying 50% will be as per promotion.
- The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will notify about the CSE recruitment from time to time.
- For levels that will be filled by promotion, the appointment method shall be controlled and governed by the railway board’s Resolutions issued from time to time, along with the approval of the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
