IPPB Selection Process 2017

Under IPPB JMGS Scale I Selection Procedure candidates will be selected through 3 main factors. These are as follows: -

1) Preliminary Examination

2) Mains Examination

3) Personal Interview

IPPB Selection Procedure Exam Pattern

Preliminary Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 100 marks with the duration of 60 minutes and it will be conducted online.

IPPB Selection Procedure: Mains Exam

The Second phase of selection in IPPB is the Main Examination which will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks & it will be conducted in an online mode.

IPPB Selection Procedure: Personal Interview/Final Selection

Candidates need to qualify the second phase of selection to proceed to the final & important phase of selection i.e. Personal Interview.

1) The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be accepted less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

2) The weightage (ratio) of Main exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively.

3) The combined final score will comprise of total marks obtained in mains examination and Interview.

4) Interview score of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed.

Note: A candidate should qualify both for the Main Examination and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process.

Some Important Points:

I. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test to be shortlisted for the other phase of selection.

II. Aspirants have to clear both the cutoffs i.e. the sectional, as well as the overall, cut off to qualify for the next phase of selection.

III. There is a Penalty of 0.25 marks for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main Examination). If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

IV. The scores obtained by the candidate in each phase will be calculated by using an equi-percentile method where scores up to two decimal will be taken for the purpose of calculation.
