Physical & Medical Standards for Assistant Commandant in ICG

As per the official notification for the recruitment Assistant Commandant in Indian Coast Guard for General Duty GD/Pilot/Navigator/Women SSA Commercial Pilot CPL SSA, Technical, Law here are the basic medical requirements.

Height	Asst Commandant (GD)/(Tech) and Law. 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations. Asst Commandant (CPL-SSA) (Men/Women). Minimum 162.5 cms and maximum 197 cms, leg length minimum 99 cms. Asst Commandant–Women(GD/Law). Height Minimum 152 cms.
Weight	Proportionate to the Height & Age, + 10 % acceptable
Chest	Well, proportionate, min. expansion 5 cms
Tattoo	Permanent body/physical tattoos are not permitted at all on any part of the body (Applicants who belong to tribal areas or specific communities will get relaxation in height as per government policies).  Tattoos made on the inner face of the forearms and the reverse side of the palm/back (dorsal) side of the hand are permitted for candidates’ rests.

Asst Commandant GD(Pilot)/ CPL holders (SSA) both (Male and Female)	6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other correctable to 6/6.
Asst Commandant Tech(Male)	6/36 6/36 -Uncorrected without glass. 6/6 6/6 – Corrected with Glass.
Asst Commandant Law  both (Male and Female)	6/60 6/60- Uncorrected without Glass. 6/6 6/12 – Corrected with Glass.

Note.

1. The abovementioned requirements are broad medical guidelines/standards only. However, in addition to the above, the complete medical will be carried out by the laid down medical standard/procedure.
2. Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from their teeth prior to the medical examination.
3. The candidates claiming height relaxation are to submit a domicile certificate to the medical officer. Failure to submit the domicile certificate will lead to a non-waiver of height relaxation.
4. Candidates with the above Medical standards are only to appear for the selection. No waiver will be given for the above standards. The Coast Guard Order on the respective medical standard of Assistant Commandant Entry will be the final authority.
