Indian Army has released the notification for Technical Entry Scheme (TES) 49 on its official website. Indian Army is accepting the online applications from the unmarried male candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, i.e., PCM subjects, and meet the eligibility criteria listed below. The application process for TES 49 has begin on the official website Joinindianarmy.nic.in on the 30th December 2022. JEE Mains is now required for the TES-49 Course. This is in addition to the requirement of a minimum of 60 percent in PCM in Class 12.

One of the opportunities for any defence aspirants to join the Indian Army as an officer in the Engineering Core is the Technical Entry Scheme (TES). The Indian Army conducts the TES twice a year. There are no written examinations like the UPSC-CDS or NDS; applicants can apply for the SSB interview based on their 12th class results (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) & JEE mains all India rank. The Indian Army admits selected candidates under TES recruitment to engineering courses, and after successfully completing the course, they are appointed directly to the rank of Lieutenant. Note: Beginning with TES 49, aspirants must take JEE mains. It is an eligibility criterion, along with marks average of 60 percent in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Math) in the 12th standard.

The Indian Army has issued a notification for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES)-47. The TES-47 course will begin in July 2022. This year, there are  expected approximately 90 job openings. The following are the key dates for this recruitment.

Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme (TES) 47: Eligibility Criteria

In the following table, we have provided you with the eligibility criteria (which includes nationality, age limit, gender, education qualification, duration of the course, type of commission, etc.) for the Indian Army technical entry scheme (TES) 49.

TES 49 is a permanent commission course. On the basis of 10+2 PCM aggregate marks & JEE Mains Score, candidates will be shortlisted for an SSB interview. There is no written exam for this. Applicants who pass the SSB interview will be subjected to a medical examination. The final merit will than be calculated using the PCM aggregate score, the SSB interview score, and the medical examination (fit or unfit) results. Aspirants who make the final merit list will be invited to enroll in a four-year B.Tech programme at the training academy. They will be commissioned as a Lieutenants in the glorious Indian Army after completing their course.

The applicant must have all the documents which are required as mentioned in the notification.

16½ years to 19½ years.

For the male aspirants only.

Education Qualification

Qualified 10+2 with Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) with at least 70 percent of total marks from the recognized board or university.

Duration of Course

The duration of the course is five years

Indian Army TES Entry: Stipend & Pay Scale

Fixed Stipend for the Cadet Training.  A total stipend of  56,100/-p.m. * will be given to the gentlemen cadets as is admissible to NDA cadets on the completion of 3 years of training. After the completion of four years of training, cadets will be commissioned in the rank of Lieutenant, and also, they were entitled to pay as admissible to the rank.

* Upon successful commissioning, the Officer commissioned’s pay in the pay matrix shall be fixed in the initial Cell of Level 10, and the time period of training shall not be treated as the commissioned service, and cadets shall be paid arrears on account of the admissible allowances, as applicable, for the training period.

How to Apply for TES 49 Recruitment in the Indian Army in 2022?

From 01 December 2022, interested candidates can apply directly for Indian Army TES Recruitment 2022. The link will be activated on 01 December. The deadline to apply is 30 December 2022. Candidates must register under the Officer’s Selection section of the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Fill in all of the required information, such as your name, address, and AADHAR number. After the registration process is completed, the shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email as well as phone to schedule an SSB interview. Interviews for the SSB will begin in April of 2023.

Training Period of Technical Entry Scheme (Indian Army)

The total training of TES will be of 5 years. Details are as under: 

(a) Basic Military Training: For 1 year at Officer Training Academy Gaya

(b) Technical Training. 

  • Phase-I (include Pre Commission Training): For 3 Years at CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME    Secunderabad), 
  • Phase-II (include Post Commission Training): For 1 year at CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad. 

(c) Award of Degree: After passing the final examination, the applicants will be awarded an Engineering degree. Aspirants with this Engineering degree will not be eligible for an ante date. Officers will be allowed only one relegation on the academic grounds during the last two semesters. According to JNU Ordinance, this relegation will be one of the maximum two relegations allowed on academic grounds during the complete Engineering degree (8 semesters). Any further academic relegation of the officer will result in his commission being terminated.
