Indian Army JAG 24 Entry Scheme Notification 2019 Out! The Indian Army has released JAG 24 notification on 16th July 2019 for 8 Vacancies. Judge Advocate General (JAG 24) 2019-20 is a special entry scheme to recruit both male and female aspirants who completed their graduation in law (LLB)
The Indian Army provides all departments with a broad spectrum of possibilities for engineering, administration, accounts, teaching, and law graduates as well.

There is no written examination in JAG special entry. Candidates will be called directly for the SSB interview, suggested applicants will receive guidelines to join the Officers Training Academy, Chennai as per the training schedule.

JAG 24: Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: The candidate should be either: (i) a citizen of India, or (ii) a subject of Bhutan, or (iii) a subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with a permanent intention to settle in India., or (v) a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African nations of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambian. However, in the event of applicants who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal, certificates of eligibility will not be required.
- Age Limit: 21 to 27 years as of 1 January 2020 (Born not sooner than 2 January 93 and not later than 1 January 99).
- Educational Qualification: Minimum aggregate marks of 55% in LLB degree (three years after graduation or five years after 10 + 2 exam). Candidates should be qualified to register as a lawyer with the Indian / State Bar Council. Candidates should be from an Indian Bar Council recognized college/university.

Tenure of Engagement:
Selected applicants (male and female) will serve a 10-year Short Service Commission in the regular army, which is extendable upto 4 more year so a total of 14 years of service.
Officers who are prepared to continue to serve in the army after the expiry of a 10-year period in the Short Service Commission may be regarded in accordance with the appropriate regulations for the grant of a permanent committee in the 10th year of their Short Service Commission.
Those officers of the SSC, who are not chosen for PC grant but are otherwise deemed fit and appropriate, will be provided the option of continuing as SSCOs for a complete period of 14 years (including the original tenure of 10 years) at the expiry of which they will be released.
Period of Probation:
The officers will be on an initial probation period of 6 months from the date of his/her commission. If he/she is reported unsuitable in any manner then his/her services may be terminated any time before or after the expiry of the probationary period which depends on the army board.
JAG 24: Salary & Promotion

Military Service Pay (MSP): MSP from Lt to Brig Rs 15,500/- p.m. officers.

How to Apply for JAG 24 Entry Scheme:
(a) Applications will be accepted only on online mode: www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. No offline applications will be accepted.
(b) Open the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
(c) Click on Officers Entry "Apply/Login" and then click "Registration".
(d) Follow the registration directions on the screen. Complete internet registration very closely after reading directions. Your profile will be opened after registration. To process the request, click on ' Apply Online'.
(e) Your details of registration will verify your eligibility to apply. Click the ' Apply ' button and open the ' Application Form ' page. Follow the on-screen directions to proceed with the implementation.Carefully read on-screen directions and click ' Continue ' to fill out details under different sections, i.e. private information, communication details, education details and prior SSB details. ' Save & Continue ' every time you go to the next section.
(f) After completing the last section information, you'll migrate to a ' Information Summary ' page where you can verify and edit entries you've created so far. Click on ' Submit ' only after checking the correctness of all your information. Candidates must press on ' Submit ' to edit any information whenever they open the request. After successful submission candidates are requested to take out 2 print out of applications.
(g) In One copy of the application form, the candidate must self-attest his photograph & affix it the form. He should then carry it to the Selection Centre for SSB interview. The applicant shall retain the second copy of the internet application printout for his reference. No hard copy should be sent to the Directorate-General for Recruitment
(h) Candidates serving in the Armed Forces are needed to provide written notification to their commanding officer that they have applied for this examination.Applications of applicants serving in the Armed Forces should be duly counter-signed by the Commanding Officer.
Note 1. No changes to details submitted in the online application can be made after the closure of application. No representations in this regard shall be entertained.
Note 2. CGPA/Grades must be converted into marks as per the formulae adopted by the concerned University for filling ‘Marks obtained’ columns in the online application.
JAG 24: Documents to be carried:
(i) Print out of application form which should be duly signed and along with photograph.
(ii) Original as well as a copy of Matriculation (class 10th) or equivalent certificate issued by the concerned Board of education (for proof of age) and itsMarks Sheet.
(iii) Copy of 12th Class Certificate & Marks sheet
(iv) Copy & Original Graduation Degree/Provisional Degree (in case of three years LLB after graduation).
(v) Copy of LLB Degree/Provisional Degree.
(vi) Original & Copy of Marks sheets of all years.
(vii) Copy of registration with Bar Council of India/State OR Certificate from college/University that the LLB Course in the said institution is recognized by Bar Council of India.
(viii) Certificate issued by the University regarding formulae for the conversion of CGPA/Grades into marks followed by the University.
JAG 24: Selection Procedure
The selection procedure is as follows:-
a) Application Shortlisting: Integrated MoD (Army) Headquarters reserves the right to shortlist applications without specifying any reason. After shortlisting of apps, the allocation of the Center will be informed by email about 2-3 weeks after the last day of implementation. After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates can log in to the website of Indian Army and select their preferred SSB dates which are available on a first-come first serve basis, upto a specified date, as notified on the website.
(b) Only shortlisted eligible candidates will undergo SSB at Selection Centres, Allahabad(UP), Bhopal(MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (PB). The Call-up letter for SSB interview/personality test will be issued by the respective Selection Centre on candidate’s registered e-mail id and SMS only. The allotment of Selection Centre is totally at the discretion of Directorate General of Recruiting, IHQ of MoD (Army) and NO request for changes will be entertained in this regard.
(c) Candidates will be examined by the two-stage selection procedure. Those candidates who clear Stage I will proceed to Stage II. Those who fail in the stage I will be sent back on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days and details of the same are available on the official website of Directorate General of Recruiting i.e, www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. A medical examination for applicants who are suggested after Stage II will follow this.
(d) Candidates recommended by the SSB who are medically fit, will be issued joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
