Under this scheme, shortlisted candidates will be trained in the armed forces and will serve the nation for a period of 4 years. Aspirants who are within the age limit of 17.5 to 23 years have already applied for the Agneepath Army recruitment 2022 from 01 July to 05 August 2022.

Indian Army Agneepath Recruitment 2022

The very first round of Indian Army Agniveer recruitment started on 01 July 2022 with the activation of online registration forms on the official website of the Indian Army. The Agneepath Scheme will enable interested candidates to serve their nation for a period of 4 years as a part of the armed forces. Indian Army Agneepath Eligibility

Indian Army Agneepath Age Limit

The Indian Army age limit is 17.5 to 21 years of age. Candidates who belong to this age range can apply for the upcoming exam. The upper age limit has been relaxed from 21 years to 23 years by the authorities as a one-time measure for the year 2022-23.

Technical – All Arms

10+2 or Intermediate Exam in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.

OR

10+2 Intermediate exam from any recognized State Education Board or Central Education Board to include NIOS and ITI course of a minimum of one year in the required field with NSQF level 4 or above.

Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper (Technical)

(All Arms)

10+2 or Intermediate Exam Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 600 marks in aggregate and a minimum of 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/Accounts in Class Xll is mandatory.

Tradesman – All Arms (10th pass)

10th Pass. No stipulation in aggregate percentage, but should have scored 33% in each subject.

Tradesman – All Arms (8th pass)

8th Pass. No stipulation in aggregate percentage, but should have scored 33% in each subject.

Indian Army Agneepath Selection Process

For the Indian Army Agneepath exam, shortlisted candidates will have to go through a rigorous selection process consisting of a series of tests. Only the candidates who pass all the tests will be allowed to proceed further with the recruitment process. Here is the list of tests that the candidates will be required to appear for:

  • Physical Fitness Test
  • Medical Test
  • Written Test

Candidates who pass the medical test will appear for the CEE (Common Entrance Examination). The date and time of the written test will be intimated by officials at the rally site itself. The candidates will also be issued their admit cards a few days before the exam date. Candidates who pass all the tests will be called for training in the armed forces. They will be expected to serve for a period of 4 years. After this time period, they will be officially discharged from service.

Indian Army Physical Fitness Test

The first test for the recruitment of Agniveers is the Physical Fitness Test. In this test, candidates will be categorised into two groups. The first task to perform would be a 1.6 km run. Here are the details about the first task:

  • Group 1 will be expected to complete the 1.6 km run in 5 mins 30 secs. The marks awarded for this would be 60.
  • Group 2 will have to complete the 1.6 km run in 5 mins 31 secs to 5 mins 45 secs. The marks awarded would be 48.

For candidates who are shortlisted in the above-mentioned tasks, the next tests will be performed, like Physical Measurement test. It will be carried out as per the Physical Standards required.

Indian Army Recruitment – Medical Test

The medical test for all shortlisted candidates will be carried out at the Rally Site as per laid down medical standards. Candidates who are found unfit will be referred to the Military Hospital for a review by a specialist. As per policy, the candidates who report to the designated Military Hospital within 5 days after referral will be reviewed within 14 days.

Indian Army Agniveer Salary

The recruited Agniveers will be compensated with a customized salary package every year during their tenure. The details about the Indian Army Agniveer salary are given below:

  • 1st Year – Rs. 30,000/- (plus applicable allowances)
  • 2nd Year – ₹33,000/- (plus applicable allowances)
  • 3rd Year – 36,500/- (plus applicable allowances)
  • 4th Year – 40,000/- (plus applicable allowances)

Indian Army Salary – Perks & Allowances

Agniveers will receive certain perks and allowances in addition to their salary package. However, there are also other allowances such as Dearness Allowance, Military Pay, PPF, PF, etc. which they will not be subjected to. Here are the perks allowed to the Agniveers according to the Indian Army salary 2022:

  • The Agniveers will get a Life Insurance Cover of INR 48 Lakhs for the duration of their tenure. 
  • They will receive Risk & Hardship, Dress, Travel, and Ration allowance, if applicable, and as decided by the GOI.
