  1. Number of moles of carbon atoms.
  2. Number of moles of hydrogen atoms.
  3. Number of molecules of ethane.

In three moles of ethane (C2H6),

(i) Number of moles of carbon atoms is 6

(ii) Number of moles of hydrogen atoms is 18

(iii) Number of molecules of ethane is 18.069 × 1023

Calculate Three Moles of Ethane (C2H6)

(i) 2 moles of carbon atoms are present in 1 mole of C2H6.

In 3 moles of C2H6, Number of moles of carbon atoms

= 2 × 3 = 6

(ii) 6 moles of hydrogen atoms are present in 1 mole of C2H6.

In 3 moles of C2H6,Number of moles of carbon atoms

= 3 × 6 = 18

(iii) 6.023 × 1023 molecules of ethane is present in 1 mole of C2H6

In 3 moles of C2H6, Number of molecules

= 3 × 6.023 × 1023 = 18.069 × 1023
