(c) check valve
(d) dual-pressure valve
In a pneumatic system, an AND gate is known as the dual-pressure valve. A dual-pressure valve or two pressure valves function as an AND gate in a pneumatic system. When a compressed air signal is simultaneously supplied to inputs X and Y, a signal at output Z will result.

Symbol of two pressure valve
- The output signal, however, is absent if there is no signal.
- There won’t be an output signal if only one input signal is used.
- When there are timing delays between the input signals, the output is reached by the signal that arrived last.
OR Function
- Two distinct circuits can be used to operate the single-acting cylinder.
- Examples include operating manually and depending on automatic circuit signals, where the cylinder will run when either the control valve or the control valve is activated.
- Consequently, the OR function is present in the circuit shown in Fig. The air current from the control valve will be released through the exhaust of the control valve if the output of two 3/2directional control valves is linked through the port of a triode, which will prevent the cylinder from working.
- By attaching a shuttle valve to the triode’s port, this issue can be fixed.
- Similar to OR logic, the shuttle valve permits fluid to flow from one of two sources. A shuttle valve’s fundamental design resembles a tube with three holes.
Summary:
In a pneumatic system, an AND gate is known as (a) non-return valve (b) gate valve (c) check valve (d) dual-pressure valve
An AND gate is referred to as a dual-pressure valve in a pneumatic system. The basic digital logic gate that implements logical conjunction (∧) from mathematical logic is called AND Gate.
