In 8085 microprocessor, the address bus is of 16 bits. Three buses make up the 8085 microprocessor: Address bus, Data bus, and Control bus.
Address bus: A 16-bit bus called the address bus is used to choose a specific memory region or peripheral device. The bus has only one direction.
Data bus: The data bus has an 8-bit length. Data is transferred in both directions between the microprocessor and memory or IO devices using this bus.
Control bus: The control bus is used to produce timing and control signals that regulate the performance of memory and various peripheral devices.
Table of content
Characteristics of the 8085 processor
- An 8-bit microprocessor can produce 8-bit data, a 16-bit address, and an 8-bit data line, giving the microprocessor a 64KB capacity.
- 6200 transistors on a single NMOS chip
- 80 instructions and 246 codes
- 256 ports for input and output
- a 40-pin DIP
- bus shared with the DMA controller
- generator of internal time
- 50% of the duty cycle
Advantages of the 8085 processor
- All electronic gadgets use a microprocessor to carry out activities, from simple to complex.
- Given that its speed is measured in hertz, it can quickly do a huge number of jobs.
- It enables the device to quickly transfer data from one memory place to another.
Summary:
In 8085 microprocessor the address bus is of _______ bits. (a) 4 (b) 8 (c) 16 (d) 32
The address bus of the 8085 microprocessor has 16 bits. The Address bus, Data bus, and Control bus are the three buses that make up the 8085 microprocessor. The selection of a certain memory area or peripheral device is made using a 16-bit address bus. There is only one direction for the bus.
