Important Dates and Exam Pattern for IPU CET Exam

IPU CET 2016 will be conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGS IPU), Delhi, on 8 May 2016. The application form for the exam has been released, on 30 January 2016. Candidates will be able to submit the application form till 29 March 2016. The forms are available online and candidates can avail it from the link below. IPU CET 2016 Exam Pattern –

IPU CET 2016 – Selection Process

Candidates shall be picked for admission on the basis of score and rank achieved by them. Thereafter, the cutoff will be applied and screening would be done. Thus, a merit list will be created for selected candidates who will get the chance to mark the options of colleges and courses in the counselling round. Seats shall be allotted to such candidates on the basis of merit ranking. In the merit list, names of the candidates will be arranged in the decreasing order of marks. The candidate with highest marks would be placed at the top of the list.

 

IPU CET Eligibility Criteria 2016

  • Candidates must read the IPU CET 2016 eligibility criteria thoroughly before applying for the exam. It will tell them if they are eligible to take the exam or not.
  • Interested candidate is required to pass class XII or any equivalent exam from a recognized state or central education board.
  • He must score a minimum percentile aggregate of 55% in Math, Physics and Chemistry (PCM) subjects.
  • He must pass all the subjects individually which includes English language subject.
  • Those who are appearing in Class XII exam in 2016 are eligible to apply as well if they meet the eligibility criteria at the time of counselling and allotment.
  • Such candidates have to present class XII mark-sheet as well along with other documents.

 

IPU CET 2016 Exam Pattern

Candidates must read the exam pattern of IPU CET 2016 to know about various aspects of the exam and question paper such as number, type and weightage of the questions, exam duration and marking scheme.

  • In the exam, candidates would be asked a total of 150 questions.
  • Questions shall be framed with from the syllabus of class XI, XII.
  • Candidates will have to solve the questions in 150 minutes or 2.5 hours.
  • Questions would be asked from math, physics and chemistry.
  • All the three subjects would have equal weightage.
  • For every right answer, 4 marks will be added to candidate’s grand total.
  • For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be cut from candidate’s grand total.

 

IPU CET 2016 Application Form

To apply for the exam and admission process, the candidates will be required to fill IPU CET Application Form 2016. The forms could be obtained from the official website of IP University, from 29 March 2016. Candidates will have to fill the form with correct and complete details, and upload scanned images of signature, photograph in the required format. If the form is found to be filled with incorrect or incomplete information, it would have been rejected by the conducting body.

IPU CET 2016 Application Fee Payment and Modes

  • Candidates have to pay Rs.750 to complete the application process successfully.
  • It can be paid via credit/debit card OR net-banking.
  • After the fees will be paid, the candidate must take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for further references.

 

IPU CET Admit Card 2016

  • Those who will complete the application process successfully and get a positive reply in application form status will be able to download the IPU CET admit card 2016.
  • To obtain the hall ticket, they have to access the official website of the university, seven days before the exam date.
  • To download the admit card, candidates will have to log in with their registration ID and Password.
  • On submitting, a link to download the IPU CET 2016 Hall Ticket would be issued.
  • It is necessary to bring the original admit card to the exam hall.
  • Without hall ticket, no candidate will be allowed to sit in the exam.
  • Admit card must be kept safe till the admission process is complete.
  • Candidate would be asked to submit hall ticket at several times, like while claiming the seat or during the counselling

 

IPU CET 2016 Result

The result of IPU CET 2016 will be announced in the 3rd week of May 2016. The result will be hosted on the official website. Along the B.Tech scores, the result for MBA, M.Sc., BJMC, M.Tech and MAHM/ MCPHM course will also be released. Candidates will be able to check their result by accessing the link above and by submitting the CET Roll Number, in the required space.

 

On the basis of the IPU CET Result merit list will be prepared. In the list, candidates will be arranged in the decreasing order of their marks. Then, in the counselling round, candidates will be called according to their merit and seat will be allocated to them. For the allocation of the seat, choice of the candidates and availability of it will be considered.

 

IPU CET 2016 Counselling

IPU CET 2016 Counselling will start in the 2nd week of June 2016. The candidates will be required to deposit an amount of Rs. 1000 via challan in Indian Bank or via online safe payment gateway for participating in the counselling procedure. The candidates can register online only, after the payment. The procedure for counselling also includes verification of documents and filling up the choices.

The list of qualified candidates will be available in the form of merit list. The candidates are suggested to fill in as many choices as they can, as this will provide a better chance to get selected. The seat allotment procedure will be based on various factors. Once the candidate is selected, he/she should be physically present at the venue. The candidates must bring all the necessary documents and certificates in original and one set of the photocopy on the allotted venue. The counselling process will be held in two rounds and if there are any vacant seats, a third round will be held. The counselling process will also depend upon reporting to the venue, withdrawal, confirmation, and non-reporting to the allotted college.
