IIT Indore has released PhD Notification 2020, Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore), located in Madhya Pradesh, established in 2009, is one of the prestigious IIT of India. It is ranked 61 in Times Higher Education, world Universities ranking – Asia and Its NIRF ranking is 10. It has released the notification for its PhD programme in Engineering, Science and Social Science stream.

Eligibility for Engineering stream

• Masters degree in the relevant field of Engineering/ Technology with first division and GATE qualification

OR

• Four-year Bachelors degree OR five-year integrated degree in the relevant field of engineering with first division and valid GATE qualification

OR

• Masters’ degree in the relevant field of Science with 
  first division and valid GATE qualification/UGC/CSIR-JRF qualification/Equivalent Fellowship

OR 

• Masters’ degree in the relevant field of Science with first division with UGC NET and valid GATE qualification.

Eligibility Criteria for Social Science Stream

• Masters’ degree in the relevant field of Humanities and Social Science with first division and UGC NET JRF/ Equivalent Qualification

• Masters degree in Business Administration with first division and UGC NET JRF/ CSIR JRF qualification/Equivalent Fellowship

OR

• Phil degree in a relevant field of Humanities and Social Science

OR

• Master's degree in a relevant field of Humanities and Social Science with UGC NET JRF OR UGC NET.

Admission Category

• FA (Fellowship Awardee): Awardees with UGC NET JRF/ CSIR JRD or any other funding agencies such as Department of Science and Technology or anyone working on a research project under a faculty member
• TA (Teaching Assistantship): Institute Teaching Assistantship with scholarship as per MHRD guidelines.
• SW (Sponsored without Institute scholarship): Any applicant working with highly reputed Research and Development Organisation or Industry.
• IS (Institute Staff): On a part-time basis for only regular staff members of IIT Indore.
• DF (Defence Forces): Defence forces serving personnel only without any scholarship.
• CT (College Teacher): Permanent Employee without any scholarship of any sponsoring College/Institute/ University.

Application process of IIT Indore for PhD Admission 2020:

• Applicants are required to visit the profile of the faculty members of their respective field and read the advertisement carefully before applying.
• Candidates are selected on the bases of Interview conducted by Faculty members. Faculty reserved the right to conduct a written exam if applicants are more.
• Applicants should apply through the online portalhttp://academic.iiti.ac.in/
• Candidates have to bring all the required documentation to written exam/Interview.
• The interview will be conducted through offline/online mode depending upon the situation.
• In case the Applicant wishes to apply for more then one field, then the applicant has to register separately.
