IIT Delhi PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Full-Time PhD	M.Tech/M.E./M.D. /M.Sc./MBA/M.A./ M.B.B.S. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks or 6.00 CGPA B.E. /B.Tech or equivalent Degree holder must have minimum 70% marks or 7.00 CGPA  Candidates (Excluding M.Tech/M.E./M.D. / or equivalent) must have qualified any one of the following – GATE/ CSIR/UGC NET/ICAR/ICMR/DST-INSPIRE fellowship
Part-time & Sponsored (full-time) Ph.D Program	M.Tech/M.E./M.D. /M.Sc./MBA/M.A./ M.B.B.S. or equivalent Degree holder must have minimum 60% marks or 6.00 CGPA B.E. /B.Tech. or equivalent Degree holder must have a minimum of 70% marks or 7.00 CGPA Employees of PSU or Government Departments Research and Development Organizations or Private Industries are eligible for PhD Part-time and Sponsored (full-time) admission Candidates with B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc./M.A./MBA/MBBS or equivalent degree from a university other than CFTIs/Central Universities must have a minimum of 2 Years of work experience. Candidates with B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc./M.A./MBA/MBBS or equivalent degree from CFTIs/Central Universities or working in IIT Delhi must have a minimum of 1 year of work experience.
IIT Delhi PhD Exemption	For part-time candidates outside NCR Delhi, minimum of 6 months is residency required.  SC/ST/PWD Candidates in Full-time mode get a maximum 5% minimum eligibility regiment qualification. GATE / National Exam is waived for B.Tech./B.E./ Integrated M. Tech/ Integrated M. Sc. programs of CFTIs and M.A or M.Sc. graduates from IITs. Such candidates must have a minimum 8.0 CGPA.
Note:  “No Objection Certificate” from the working organization is required for Part-Time candidates. “Sponsorship Certificate” must be submitted by Sponsored (full-time) candidates.

IIT Delhi PhD Admission 2022- Cutoff

Candidates can check below the GATE Cutoff criteria –

• GATE Cut-off is only applicable for the PhD shortlisting process of the Interview round for Full-time PhD candidates only and not for Part-Time candidates. 
• The GATE Cut off for General Category candidates required is 300.
• The GATE Cutoff for SC/ST/ PWD candidates required is a minimum 200 score.

IIT Delhi PhD Admission 2022: Admission Process

The IIT Delhi shortlists candidates on the basis of GATE score or National exam score, academic qualification merit, and work experience (required for part-time and sponsored candidates). The final selection is made on the basis of the interview performance of the candidates.

IIT Delhi PhD Admission 2022: Financial Assistance 

Candidates who are looking for financial assistance from IIT Delhi can check below:-

• IIT Delhi offers an Assistantship amount of INR 31000 each month for full-time PhD scholars during the first 2 years of registration. This is offered for Teaching Assistance of 8 hours/week. It can be increased up to INR 35000 Per Month for the next 3 years of registration.
• Full-time scholars in sponsored project/consultancy projects (In addition to assistantship work) are offered INR 25000 each month by the project PI/CI. 
• IIT Delhi also offers INR 20000 to candidates for presenting papers abroad at quality academic conferences.
• Full-time PhD scholars are eligible for additional assistance from the Research Scholar Travel Award (RSTA) with up to INR 1.30 Lakh.
