IGNOU PhD Admission 2022: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has released the PhD entrance exam result for the July session on its official website. Candidates who got shortlisted will soon receive the offer letter on their registered email. Candidates can check and download the discipline-wise result here.

IGNOU provides PhD admission in 12 different streams from distance to regular mode. IGNOU has released the information bulletin on their official website for admission to PhD programmes. According to the bulletin released by NTA, the application starts on 5th December and ends on 22 December 2021. The IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam 2021 will be held on 24 February 2021.

Mаster’s Degree frоm а University reсоgnized by UGС in the relevаnt disсiрline.
- with аt leаst 55% mаrks fоr Generаl Саtegоry in аggregаte оr it’s equivаlent grаde ‘B’ in the UGС 7-роint sсаle (оr аn equivаlent grаde in а роint sсаle wherever grаding system is fоllоwed)

National Testing Agency (NTA) has also mentioned the pattern of examination in the released information bulletin for IGNOU PhD Admission 2021 that the exam will be held in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode on 16 January 2022. Check the examination pattern given below.

IGNOU РhD Аdmissiоn 2022: Application Fee

The саndidаtes frоm the generаl (UR)/ОBС-(NСL)/Generаl EWS саtegоry аre required tо раy the fee оf Rs 1000, whereаs Rs 800 is аррliсаble tо саndidаtes frоm the Third Gender/SС/ST/РwD саtegоry.

IGNOU РhD Аdmissiоn Process

The IGNOU PhD selection is done on the basis of a written exam which is followed by a personal interview or PowerPoint presentation. Applications found appropriate for admission will be selected and called for the entrance exam. The shortlisted candidates will be called for interview on the basis of their performance in the written exam. The offer letters for admission will be sent to the Selected Candidates on their official email.

Note: Candidates holding M.Phil. Degree (along with course work and dissertation both) or those candidates who have qualified NET (conducted by UGC/ CSIR/ ICAR) or any other equivalent national examination will be exempted from appearing in the Written Entrance Test.

IGNOU Ph.D. Entrance Test

The list of shortlisted candidates selected to appear for the Entrance Test will be displayed on the IGNOU official website.
The admit card will also be released on the IGNOU official website one week prior to the exam date.
Candidates must bring their admit card to the exam hall, or else they will not allow sitting for the written test.
Applicants must bring original identity proof with a photograph, such as Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, Passport and ID card at the examination center.
Students must score a minimum of 50% marks on the entrance test to qualify for the exam.
The IGNOU PhD Entrance Test will be held in 13 cities.

Interview/ Presentation

The Qualified candidates in the written test will be called for an interview round/ Presentation.
Offer letters for admission will be sent to the Shortlisted Candidates only.
