Last-Minute Tips for IBPS RRB PO Exam (Prelims)

Before we move to that, a clear idea of the structure of the exam is a must. The IBPS RRB PO exam pattern will consist of the following.

A penalty of one-fourth, or 0.25 of the total points for the question, will be applied. Only primary exam scores will be taken into account when selecting candidates for interviews and creating the final merit list. To qualify for the interview round, candidates must achieve the over-cut-off score and the sectional cut-off for each section.

Before you appear for the IBPS RRB PO exam, take proper note of the following.

Effective Time Management is a must to clear the exam. Do not try to solve each and every question. Select the questions that you can solve first correctly, keeping in mind your stronger areas. Try to first attempt the questions which are less time-consuming.

Speed and Accuracy are the most important parameters that will help you clear your IBPS RRB prelims exam. Maintain speed from the beginning so that you can solve tricky questions with ease.

Please keep in mind that there is a Negative Marking of ¼ marks per question for each Wrong Answer.

Remember IBPS RRB prelims exam is just Qualifying in nature. The marks scored in this phase will not be included in the final merit list. Take a look at the IBPS RRB Selection Process for more details.

Candidates are required to obtain a minimum score in each section to clear the Sectional Cut-Off and also a minimum total score to clear the Overall Cutoff in the online test to be shortlisted for the IBPS RRB mains phase. Take a look at last year's IBPS RRB cut off for a better idea of how much you need to score.

Start revising the prepared formulas & tables because this time should be devoted to the revision.

One of the most effective tips is to not start any new or fresh topics because it will lead to confusion and anxiety for the IBPS RRB 2022 exam.

Attempt IBPS RRB Prelims 2022 mock tests until the exam day. Give at least 5 hours every day to practice the questions in the Quant section till the exam day.

Reasoning Ability 2022 Study Notes

During IBPS RRB Officer PO 2022 Exam

Save the most time-consuming and challenging questions at the end of each section. By starting with simpler problems in each area, you can gain confidence. Your self-assurance will give you the impetus you need to perform successfully over the course of 45 minutes.

Reasoning Ability: Start by answering the queries from your areas of expertise. If you are unsure about the puzzles or arrangement questions, save them for the end. If you are having trouble with a puzzle and have spent more than three minutes on it, you should probably go on to the next question. The most crucial thing to keep in mind during the IBPS RRB PO Prelims Exam is how you use your time.

Try to finish the entire portion in 20 to 22 minutes. Do not feel anxious instead, take a deep breath and solve with assurance. Make sure you don't lose points on the exam's highest scoring themes, which include syllogism, inequality, blood relations, order and ranking, alphanumeric series, and distance and direction. Set aside at least 5 hours every day to prepare for the reasoning section.

Quantitative Aptitude: The only thing that counts in this phase is how well you understand your principles, not how many tricks you know. Even if you forget the exam's gimmick, you can still answer the questions using your conceptual understanding. In these 4-5 days, thoroughly practice subjects on simplification and percentages. Review all of the previously learned concepts because they are essential to understanding questions on nearly every other subject, including DI, ratio-proportion, ages, profit & loss, work & time, mixture-allegation, etc.

The best advice for completing word puzzles is to read the problem thoroughly the first time, without wasting time on multiple readings. As you read, keep making notes of the material you consider crucial so you can quickly enter it into the formula and find the answer after you have finished reading the question.

Major Do’s and Don’t for the IBPS RRB PO Exam

Do not panic once the exam starts. Stay calm and start with the section you are most confident about.

  • Do read the questions properly first.
  • Do attempt the questions in the time you have assigned to each section and try not to spend more time than that.
  • Do make sure that you attempt 60 plus questions.
  • Do not spend too much time on any one question.
  • Do not do any guesswork.
  • Be prepared for the surprises as many new topics can be asked in the exam. Also, different topics will be asked in different shifts.

Note: Do not forget to take along the photograph (same as that on the admit card) and Xerox as well as the original ID proof with you.
