Ideal Time Allotment for individual sections:

To succeed in any competitive exam, you must possess proper time management skills. Try to answer the questions that take up the least amount of time and that you are confident in. Remember that each erroneous response carries a penalty of 1/4 of a mark. To prevent receiving a low grade, it is recommended that you either accurately answer the questions or leave them blank. General Awareness Approach

This is the most scoring section of the exam. To get a commendable score in General Awareness, you must prepare the following topics thoroughly :

A) Banking and Finance:

  • Static topics of Banking, such as all banking rates and ratios, headquarters of Banks and Institutions, banking history, functions of Reserve Bank of India, nationalization, type of accounts, cheques, capital market and money market, abbreviations of Banking terms, etc.
  • Apart from this, you should learn very well the current insights of Banking and the economy such as chiefs of various banks, mergers of banks, entry of new players in the banking sector, FDI limits, etc.

B) Government Schemes :

Understand, learn and well revise all the schemes launched by the central Government. Focus mainly on important schemes and schemes related to Banking, economy, and insurance sector.

C) Current affairs :

You should focus on preparing the last 5-6 months of current affairs. You should be well aware of persons in news, sports events, awards, new books launched, and authors of the books. Focus on summits of important organizations, deals, treaties, and Defence-related and important events held. Start writing and maintaining notes of Current affairs.

D) Static General Knowledge :

In the static GK portion, the questions mainly can be asked from the Geography of the country. Revise the headquarters of important national and international organizations, wildlife sanctuaries, current chief ministers, governors, countries, capitals, etc.

English Language Approach

A) Since this is an assistant level exam, the level of English Language will fall into the easy to moderate category. Performing well in the English section depends on good reading habits, vocabulary knowledge, and good grammar skills.

B) Since few days are left for the exam, you must revise all the important rules of Grammar. Understand very well the concepts of Tenses, Prepositions, Subject-verb agreement, conditional sentences. You should have in mind what are the common errors of English Grammar Chapters. Must go through all the chapters of Grammar in Grammar scholar series to understand rules and errors in a better way.

C) Vocabulary cannot be built in a day. You should not skip reading newspapers on daily basis. It will enhance your reading skills as well as your vocab. Maintain a diary for vocab learning. Note down the new words you come through from anywhere and revise them often. Go through the Newspaper wordlist ‘Shape up of your vocabulary‘  to enhance your vocab

D) Understand the important roots of English to grasp the meaning of many related words in go. Understanding the roots will help you immensely in the English section

A) If you are going to attempt the Hindi Language section in IBPS RRB Office Assistant 2021 exam, then you must give equal attention to this subject while preparation

B) You must solve the previous year’s paper of the Hindi Language section to get a wide idea of the type and level of questions asked.

C) Go through the good quality Hindi Grammar books and notes available

D) Learn and revise some hard words daily. You can learn at least 20 words per day

E) In this section, the topics are usually the same as the English Language:

A) It is all about speed to solve questions accurately in minimum time. This section can make or break your chances of selection in the exam.

Numerical Ability Approach

A) The numerical ability section is one that many aspirants are nervous about. You don’t have to be. In fact, one can score high marks in this section, provided you have enough practice. So, it is important to prepare thoroughly with plenty of practice for this section.

B) Work on your calculation skills. The faster you can calculate, the more questions you can answer and therefore, higher your chances of scoring more. However, faster problem solving should also be correct problem-solving.

C) Learn and revise the tables(1-40), squares (1-50), cubes (1-30) to solve questions in a fast manner in the exam.

D) Revise and practice the tricks of the square, square root, cubes, cube root finding. Practice techniques of approximation so that you take less time while addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division operations.

E) Go through with the concepts of place value, face value, BODMAS, rounding off, whole numbers and tables, etc.

F) Practice the questions from the topics of your choice, but make sure you are well versed with the good level.

Important tips to keep in mind

A. Mock test: Give mock tests and analyze them properly. Mock tests are the best way to identify your strength and weaknesses. Through mock tests, you will be familiar with the pattern and level of the exam and hence you will be able to tackle exam pressure in the actual examination.

B. Identify your strengths and have a clear strategy: While preparing, identify your strengths in every section. You should have a clear plan in mind that of which type of questions you are going to attempt and which you will leave in the actual exam. You should prepare according to this plan for every section. 

C. Don’t Cram: Just some days before the exam, do not cram yourself. Do not rush among so many books or websites. Just follow a good book and website for revising your concepts and for practicing questions. Also do not forget to make notes of important points, formulas, rules, facts & figures during your preparation and revise them properly before the IBPS exam. 

4. Don’t be pressurized: Do not feel nervous. Believe in yourself. If you have prepared sincerely, nothing can stop you.
