This was my first interview. I reached the venue at 12.30. They called us upstairs for document verification at 1.00. My documents got verified and went for biometric. I was enjoying the document verification part. It was my first time and I was finding it really amusing. But later I got really tensed up before entering the interview room.
There were 24 members in our batch and mine was 7. I went in at 4.45.They were 4 members in the interview panel (3M, 1F). All of them asked me questions.
Knock knock. May I come in?
Panel: Yes
Me: Good evening man, good evening sir.
Panel: Good evening. Please be seated.
Me: Thank you sir.
M1: So what is your name?
Me: Sir, my name is Priyanka.
M1: Tell about your family.
Me: Answered. (2 cross questions)
M1: Do you know Telugu?
Me: Yes sir. I can understand. But I can’t talk.
M1: You completed graduation this year?
Me: Yes sir.
M1: So how successful have you been academically?
Me: Sir academically successful. There is nothing so successful. (Me thinking marks se zyada aur kya successful ho sakta h academically:-P)
M1: There would have been something (smiling).
M1: Your specialization subjects in BBM?
Me: Finance and Security Analysis.
M1 passed to M2.
M2: What are you doing now?
Me: Sir I am doing PGDBF from Symbiosis through distance.
M2: So you had HRM. Tell few topics
Me: Wage Fixation, Performance Appraisal. (Was not able to recall anything)
M2: Tell about Performance Appraisal.
Me: Sorry sir, I don’t know.
M2: Management Techniques.
Me: Sorry sir, I don’t know.
M2: Cost accounting
Me: Sorry sir, I don’t know.
M3: (inhone mast questions puche. Jo aata tha wahi pucha) what is banking?
Me: Sir, Bank is a financial institution which accepts deposits & provides credit. It also performs other functions like mutual funds, insurance, locker facility, underwriting of shares, etc.
M3: Aapne NPA k baare main suna h? Bataiye.
Me: NPA- Non performing asset. These are the assets which have stopped generating income for the bank. Like a bank loan becomes NPA if installments are not made for 90 days.
M3: Ok good. You read newspaper.
Me: Sometimes.
M3: Today’s news?
Me: Sir yesterday was our 67th Republic Day & President rule in Arunachal Pradesh.
M3: Ok.
F1: You had environment in graduation right. Tell about types of pollution.
Me: Air, water, soil, land.
F1: Tell about air pollution.
Me: Air pollution is pollution of atmosphere. Vehicular and industrial exhaust causes air pollution. Global warming and greenhouse effect are the effects of it.
M2:( Then it became an informal conversation) they asked Rajasthan main kaha se ho. Waha land aur sab Hoga na. Phir bole idhar abhi settle hogaye ho aap. Maine kaha ha sir 55 years se. They started asking about how many Jain temples are there in Vizag. I said 4-5. Sabke locations puche. Toh bataye maine. Excitement main maine bola sir hamare ghar pe bhi hain. They smiled and said ok ok.
Panel: Good. Very good. Thank you.
Me: Thank you. Have a nice day sir & mam.
F1: Take a chocolate and go.
Me: Thank you.
(Entire interview was in English. I was tensed up. I fumbled at the starting. Later it was ok.)
