IBPS PO 2018 Success Story: Lokesh Kumar Bansal
My name is Lokesh Kumar Bansal. I was preparing for IBPS PO since 2016 and finally, the day has arrived. Yes, I am selected as PO in PNB bank. After 3 years of a rigorous period, I have achieved this.
Here I want to share some of my strategies which helped me to crack IBPS PO.
My Strategy for Success in IBPS PO Exam
Quantitative Aptitude - Quant section was my plus point every time. I just only gave speed tests for it as my speed of calculation was already very good. Here I would suggest increasing your calculation speed by giving speed tests, quizzes shared by gradeup and learn tables upto 30. This will surely help you to crack this section.
Reasoning Ability- When I started preparing bank exams, I was not that good at solving puzzles due to which I couldn't not clear even Prelims of IBPS PO 2016. So I worked on it by practising like anything. I practised around 100-150 puzzles before IBPS PO 2017 and believe me it's just practice that can fetch you good marks in reasoning section. Keep solving puzzles.
English Language- Section that scares me a lot. English was not my cup of tea due to this I couldn't clear even sectional cut off in English Section of IBPS PO 2017. Last year I gave my all to this section. I started reading editorials, attempting quizzes, some basic rules of grammar and again quizzes by gradeup based on them.
And in 2018 the sectional timing came as bliss for me as my quant and reasoning sections were strong now so I could easily concentrate on English section for full 20 minutes. All came together and I started getting good marks in English section too.
General awareness- For this section, I made my own notes on a daily basis using gradeup and other platforms, revised them and gave tests on a daily basis, and after pre result just revised them. That is the best thing to do according to me.
So this was my strategy to crack IBPS PO.
This journey came to end after 3 years during which I gave so many exams-
- IBPS PO 2016- Failed in Pre
- IBPS PO 2017- Failed in pre
- IBPS RRB 2017-Missed final cut off by 2 marks
- SBI PO 2018 - failed in pre
- SBI CLERK 2018- couldn't clear mains exam.
- ESIC SSO 2018- missed GA cutoff by 0.25 mark overall I got 138
- Canara 2018- missed by 0.25
- IBPS RRB PO 2018- Missed final cut off by just 0.5 marks.
After these failures finally, the day arrived. I missed many exams by a very little margin and these things hurt you most. But I decided not to give up, I prepared with more and more energy everytime I failed and finally, I got selected. Gradeup helped me alot in this journey, I attempted all quizzes provided by them, Weekly one-liners for GA, GK TORNADO everything helped alot, so a big thank you to all mentors.
At last, I just wanna say that don't blame your luck, just have faith in your preparation, if you are seriously trying for it, sooner or later it will come to you.
