IBPS PO, Clerk & SO Bank Document Verification and Joining Formalities: IBPS has already declared the final results for IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, and IBPS SO and many aspirants have made their careers in the banking sector this year.

Now, after getting the selection what is the next process? How selected candidates will be given a joining letter? What are the formalities and documents required at the time of document verification (DV)? All these questions must be striking candidates’ minds and why not they are just a step away from starting a new and professional life.

Today in this article we are going to answer all your questions and will brief you on the important documents required for joining IBPS Banks, IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, and IBPS SO joining, and other useful information. So students, if you have cleared any of these exams then must keep reading this article to find answers to all your queries.

The allotment process is also an integral part of the IBPS selection process. After the provisional allotment by IBPS to the successful candidates, students have to wait for the DV round and joining date announcement by their allotted banks.

We can expect that the joining date for IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk will be announced at least after 2-3 months. But before we proceed with the information, let us know what is a provisional allotment?

What is a Provisional Allotment?

The final merit list is the combination of the marks scored in mains as well as interview round in the ratio 80:20 (only marks of mains exam are added for final selection in case of clerical exams).

This provisional allotment is given to those students only who successfully cleared all the phases of the recruitment process by IBPS. The candidature of those candidates can be canceled who fail to fulfill the eligibility criteria.

What is the official process after getting a Provisional Allotment?

After the result is declared, individual banks come into force as IBPS is only a medium to recruit these prominent candidates. Bank sends an offer letter on the registered email id of the candidate with the list of the formalities and documents to be produced at the time of DV. Some banks may publish this information on their official site as well.

This mail generally contains the information regarding the medical tests that are required to be completed by the individual, Documents, and other certificated that must be carried at the time of documentation, and other useful and confidential information.

Medical procedure

Every selected candidate has to get a certain test done by the doctors mentioned by the bank in the mail or any other mode of communication.

Charges of the test have to be borne by the individual and no refund would be provided for the same.

These medical test reports are to be produced/submitted at the time of document verification along with other essential documents.

Your joining the bank will be subject to medical fitness only. These tests may include:

  • Blood C.B.C.
  • Full abdomen & pelvis Ultrasonography.
  • Serum Cholesterol.
  • Blood urea/NPN.
  • Serum Creatinine. HIV test.
  • E.S.R.
  • Urine and Stool routine.
  • X-ray of Chest P.A. view.
  • Blood Sugar – Fasting. PP.

List of the Documents/Certificates Required at the time of DV for Joining Banks

(i) Candidates must carry their Interview call letter in print.

(ii) Valid Application form for the post you have applied for. Like if you have cleared IBPS PO, then the application of the same in print must be with the other documents required.

(iii) Proof of Date of Birth must match with the date of birth mentioned in the application form. (Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Municipal Authorities or SSLC/ Std.X Certificate with DOB).

(iv) Photo identity proof. You can carry an Aadhar card or a voter id card for verification.

(v) valid mark sheet from a recognized university, of graduation, and other valid documents from board/university for having declared the result.

(vi) Caste certificate in the format as mentioned by the government of India in the case of category SC/ST/OBC. 

(vii) In case you have applied from the EWS category then income and asset certificate are subject to its eligibility.

(viii) Disability certificate of a candidate in the mentioned format issued by the District Medical Board.

(ix) Experience certificates of a candidate if he has any,

(xiv) Persons falling in categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) of Point B (I) should produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt. Of India.

(XV) Computer literacy certificate for those who fall under the clerical cadre category as per the notification.

(XVI) Relieving letters from the past employer if any.

(xvii) Character Certificate from a gazetted officer or the officer serving in the nationalized bank

(xviii) Twi passport size photograph

(xix) Any other relevant documents in support of eligibility.

After successfully submitting all the necessary documents training process by the banks is held. Let us discuss in brief what the training process is? How is it conducted and for how long?

Training Process

Many of the banks before joining the branch located conduct the training process. Training may last a long 15 to 20 days depending on the individual banks and their requirement.

Generally, training is conducted at the bank’s training center, offices, or other zonal offices. During this training process accommodation facilities and meals are provided to the candidates.

Candidates are trained about the functioning of the banks and how they work. Usually, training is held for normal working hours like 5-6 hours a day.

And, after completing the training period, candidates are posted in their branches as allotted for a routine job. Salary without any deduction is also provided during these training days to the candidates.
