In this article, we will cover the Haryana Public Service Commission exam pattern & selection. In order to crack the exam one should know these things and thus making it easier in the selection procedure. The exam is a paper-based examination that can be taken offline. HPSC Exam Pattern 2022

HPSC exam has three stages: preliminary examination, mains examination, and personal interview. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will be qualified to take the Mains exam. Following that, applicants are invited to an interview round, during which the final selection is made.

Stage I – Preliminary examination consists of two papers and is only for qualifying purposes.
Stage II- There are four papers in the Mains examination.
Stage III- Personality test

The essence of papers is both objective and subjective.

HCS Prelims Exam (Objective Type)

There will be negative marking for each wrong answer which will be ¼ of marks of questions i.e. 0.25
The question papers will be written in two languages: Hindi and English.

HCS Main Exam Pattern (Subjective Type)

In the HCS Mains test, candidates must attempt a total of 4 papers.
Three hours will be given for each paper.

HPSC Selection Process

There are three stages:

Prelims Exam - This stage is qualifying in nature. Candidates have to clear both the papers to qualify for the mains examination. Marks of Paper I will only be considered for the merit of candidates appearing for the mains exam.
Main Exam- This stage have four papers. Marks of all the 4 papers will be counted to qualify for the personality test.
Interview - The final Merit List for HPSC Exam will be based on the assessment of 675 (600 + 70) Marks.
