As the exam approaches optimal utilisation of time becomes imperative and more so how you utilise the crucial last week before the big day. Here are few important tips which will assist you in better planning and management of the last week.

Focus on your strengths: last week is not the best time to overcome your weaknesses in various topics or the subjects. Therefore, it’s better to pay attention to your strengths.

Revise notes and or synopsis: Notes or synopsis, already made, should be revised especially those of current affairs. Also making of new notes at this stage should be strictly avoided as you might not be able to revise them in time. Target should be to revise all the notes or synopsis at least once before the exam.

Do not read anything new: This will be fruitless in terms of gains made and effort put in. In fact, revise old stuff as much as possible as prelims exam in many ways is recall and identify exam and your probability of recalling will increase with more and more revision.

Stop reading newspaper: There is no point in reading newspaper as by this time prelims paper is already set thus reading of newspaper at this stage will not help directly in the prelims exam. Moreover 1-3 hrs saved from newspaper reading should be utilised in revision which will serve better.

Solve quizzes: Solving quiz will not only boost your confidence but will also prepare you mentally for the examination day. Also try to practice few quizzes on sample OMR sheet, this will give you the feel of the examination and will help you in avoiding silly mistakes of bubbling a different option despite knowing the correct answer.

Re-adjust sleep cycle: Many of you are night birds and study late night or all night. Try to re-adjust this sleep cycle and go to bed early so that you can sleep soundly before the night of the examination and feel fresh in the examination hall instead of feeling groggy and committing silly mistakes especially in CSAT paper.

Take last day or half a day off from studies: If comfortable then at least don’t study after the afternoon or evening on the penultimate day of the examination. Instead talk to friends, family members, watch a movie and go to bed early. This will not only cheer you up and encourage you but will also take your mind off from the examination and relive you of exam stress

Lastly have faith in your preparation and go into examination hall with the confidence that “I have it in me and no matter what comes I will tackle it confidently”
