NET Exam topic wise preparations: It consists of Paper-1(Objective) and Paper-2 (Descriptive). Paper-1 topics are as follows:

PAPER-1:

1. Teaching Aptitude:

  • This subject covers teaching concepts, levels, characteristics, factors of learning, methods of teaching, teaching support system and Evaluation system.
  • Be updated with the latest teaching styles, good assessment styles, forms of assessment and tools in the education sector.

2. Research Aptitude:

  • This subject includes the Definition of Research, types, and steps of research, Thesis & Articles writing and research ethics.
  • Be aware of ethics and citation styles of Research and Thesis subject.
  • Practice questions based on Research designs, risks of research, avoid bias during the scientific investigation, and various methods of writing research and thesis.

3. Comprehension: Any comprehension based questions:

  • Practice English vocabulary words and five passages based on comprehension daily.
  • Do revise basic grammar topics, how to conclude inference, finding evidence and getting a gist from the essay.

4. Communication:

  • This subject contains characteristics of communication, barriers of communication in Mass, Media, and society.
  • Be updated with current affairs and news section for the latest updates. Read the newspaper daily. Different Methods to communicate in the classroom through various network tools and collect information from the last three months' newspaper.

5. Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude:

  • This subject contains topics such as Types of reasoning, aptitude question on ratio, fractions, percentage, profit and loss, average, etc.
  • Use short techniques to grasp formulae and tables- practice ten questions daily.

6. Logical Reasoning:

  • This subject contains topics such as Argument structure, analogies, Venn diagrams, kinds of inferences and perceptions.
  • It is based on critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Do practice 10-15 questions daily to comprehend the data.

7. Data Interpretation:

  • This subject contains topics such as classification of data, quantitative and qualitative data, graphical representations, data interpretations and data and governance.
  • Practice 10 questions on interpreting scientific tables, graphs, and data mapping to improve your calculation speed.

8. ICT:

  • This subject contains topics such as general abbreviation and terminology, basics of internet, email and video conferencing, digital initiatives in higher education etc.
  • Be practical and surf through the internet for the latest technical information related to education and society.

9. People and Environment:

  • This subject contains topics such as natural hazards and natural issues related to the environment.
  • Practice UGC NET Previous Test Papers and related topics based on the subject for explicit subject knowledge.
  • Read the newspaper and update yourself about the latest information related to environmental issues and globalization in our country.

10. Higher Education System:

  • This subject contains topics such as oriental, conventional and non-conventional learning, technical, professional skill-based questions, value and environment education.
  • Practice at least 10-15 questions based on types of higher education in India, Panchayat Raj, Central Universities in India and Parliament purpose and structures, which can give a clear, crisp idea of the latest information.

PAPER-2:

It consists of a different subject. A candidate needs to choose a subject that he/she has specialized in their Post graduation.

The above exams shall be conducted in two sessions with a gap of two hours each.

Topic-wise Preparation for SET

Candidates need to generate a firm approach towards each section and do topic-wise revision in the remaining 15 days for better results. It consists of only one paper that is divided into four parts.

1. Quantitative:

  • This subject contains topics such as Profit & Loss, Average, Discount, Time and work, percentage, permutation, and combination, etc. are few of the scoring categories, which covers almost 75% of the subject.
  • Gain accuracy and speed by learning short cut technique to enhance your calculation speed and makes you accurate to remember tables, square roots, etc.

2. General English:

  • This subject contains Analogy, Synonyms, antonyms, spot an error and grammar.
  • Practice 3-4 comprehension passages on a daily basis by understanding questions to solve the passage.
  • Vocabulary and 30 grammar questions on basic grammar need to be revised.

3. General awareness:

  • This subject contains awards, companies and founders, UGC NET books and authors, current affairs, science, and sports.
  • Read the newspaper daily and gather information on current affairs of the last three months through magazines, online websites, and newspapers.

4. Logical Reasoning:

  • This subject contains coding-decoding, syllogism, assumptions, a question on series, probability, verbal reasoning, arrangement and blood relationship, etc. based on critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Solve at least 20-30 reasoning questions daily and check your accuracy speed, as should not exceed more than 15 minutes. Practice regularly will decrease your accuracy level.
