How Many Members are Elected to the National People’s Congress from all Over China?

As per the most recent data of 2018, 2980 members are elected to the National People's Congress from all over China. The National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, commonly referred to as the National People's Congress, is actually the world's largest Parliamentary body with nearly 3000 members (2018). It consists of National People's Congress deputies elected from 35 electoral units as per law.

It is also the highest legislative body in China.

The National People's Congress is the highest organ with respect to state power in China. A total number of 2980 deputies were elected to the 13th National People's Congress before its first session that was to be held in Beijing, China, on March 05, 2018. The NPC session is conducted once a year and can be held anytime the Standing Committee feels fit or in case more than 1/5th of the deputies propose it.

Some basic functions of the NPC are making amendments to China's constitution and supervising the same, enforcing or amending laws, to elect, appointing or removing members of the Central State organs.
