A total of 10,93,948 candidates applied for the UPSC 2021. However, as per Union Public Service Commission, only 5,08,619 candidates appeared for the UPSC 2021. The Civil Services Examination 2021 was conducted on October 10th. Only 10,000 candidates cleared the UPSC Prelims and were selected for the UPSC Mains round.

The shortlisted candidates went through the last round, i.e. Personality Test, which began on April 5 and concluded on May 26. A total of 761 candidates cracked the UPSC CSE final examination.
