The mode of nutrition in amoeba takes place with the help of phagocytosis and endocytosis. Amoebae ingest food using pseudopodia, which are projections that resemble arms on the cell surface. It fuses over the food particles to create a vacuole. Inside the vacuole, complex chemicals are converted into smaller ones that subsequently drift into the cytoplasm.
