KVS 2022: General Knowledge Important Topics

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan TGT, PGT & PRT exam 2022 is scheduled to be conducted soon. In this examination, General Knowledge Section plays an important role because 40 questions will be asked in the TGT exam and 10 questions will be asked in the PRT Exam. In this article, we are sharing important Static G.K. that can be asked in KVS 2022 exam.

In this examination, the General Knowledge subject is divided into two sections.

2. Current Affairs

National Symbols:-

1.National Emblem of India. Ashoka Pillar. It is an adaptation from the Sarnath Lion Capital of Ashoka. It was adopted by the Government of India on January 26, 1950. In the adapted form, the total number of lions is four. Only three lions are visible, the fourth being hidden from the view. Lion, Elephant, Bull, Horse four animals are depicted in The Lion Capital of Ashoka at Sarnath. The motto ‘Satyamev Jayate’ (‘truth alone triumphs) written in Devanagari Script and taken from Mundaka Upanishad is also an integral part of the National Emblem.
2.National Flag of India.The National Flag of India is horizontal rectangular in shape and has three colours – deep saffron, white and green in equal proportion. In the centre of the white part, there is a wheel(Ashoka Chakra) Wheel of Law in navy blue colour. It has 24 spokes. The ratio of the length and the breadth of the flag is 3:2. Its design was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on July 22, 1947. The flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya.
3.National Anthem of India.

"Jana Gana Mana" was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on January 24, 1950, as the national anthem of India. It is composed by Rabindranath Tagore. It was first sung in December 1911 at the Congress session in Calcutta. its playing time is approximately 52 seconds.‘Jana Gana Mana’ was first published in 1912 under the title of "Bharat Vidhata" in a monthly periodical of Brahmo Samaj.In1919 Rabindranath Tagore translated Jana Gana Mana in English under the title "The Morning Song of India".

4.National Song of India."Vande Mataram" composed by Bankimchandra Chatterjee. It has inspired many freedom fighters during the freedom struggle.

5.National Bird of India.Indian peacock (Pavo cristatus) is designated as the national bird of India.
6.National Animal of India.The Bengal Tiger. The Bengal Tiger was declared as the national animal of India in April 1973, with the initiation of Project Tiger, to protect the tigers in India.
7.National Calendar of India.Saka Calendar.
8.National Flower of India.Lotus(Nelumbo Nucifera Gaertn)
9.National Tree of India.Indian Banyan(Ficus bengalensis)
10.National Fruit of India.Mango (Mangifera indica)
11.National Currency of India.Rupee (₹)
12.National Aquatic Animal.Dolphin
