Its design was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on July 22, 1947. The flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya. |

It was first sung in December 1911 at the Congress session in Calcutta. its playing time is approximately 52 seconds.‘Jana Gana Mana’ was first published in 1912 under the title of "Bharat Vidhata" in a monthly periodical of Brahmo Samaj.In1919 Rabindranath Tagore translated Jana Gana Mana in English under the title "The Morning Song of India". |
