Give reasons for the following – Aluminium foils are used to wrap food items.

Aluminium foils are used to wrap food items as it is a good conductor of electricity and heat which helps food to remain warm for more time in aluminium sheets or foils. Chemically speaking, aluminium is an element with the atomic number and symbol Al. It can be easily cast, machined, and shaped, and it is a non-toxic element. It can be made into extremely thin foils that are perfect for food packaging because it is the second most malleable and sixth most ductile metal.
Due to its low reactivity, aluminium doesn’t react with food and has no flavour-altering effects. Food keeps its heat for a longer period of time in aluminium sheets or foil because aluminium is a good conductor of heat and electricity. As a result, Aluminium foil is used to wrap food.
Uses of Aluminium
- It is utilised as castings in the transportation of autos, trucks, and railroads.
- You can find it in the packing.
- Al(II) compounds are seen when oxidants like oxygen react with alkali metals.
- Aluminium can be identified in qualitative analysis using aluminon.
Properties of Aluminium
- The substance is quite reactive. It is about one-third the density and rigidity of steel.
- Aluminium resists corrosion well.
- It has superconducting properties.
- There are numerous hydrogen isotopes with unidentified masses that range from twenty-one to forty-one.
