Give a Brief Description of the Process of Synthesis of Food in Green Plants?

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants produce food. Green plants employ a process called photosynthesis to produce their own sustenance. Sunlight, chlorophyll, water, and carbon dioxide gas are necessary for photosynthesis. All green plants contain chlorophyll, which is found mostly in the leaves. Water from the soil and carbon dioxide from the air are both absorbed by plants. The group of plants known as autotrophs are able to produce their own food.

There are several steps in the process of photosynthesis.

Since leaves are where food is produced in plants, they are frequently referred to as the plant’s “food factory.” Food is produced in leaves in the following ways:

• Roots take up water and minerals from the soil, moving them to the leaves.
• Through stomata, which are tiny openings on the surface of the leaves, atmospheric carbon dioxide enters plants. Stomata assist plants absorb solar energy, which is then utilised to manufacture food from water and carbon dioxide. Photosynthesis is the term used to describe the process of creating food while exposed to sunshine.
