FAQs

  • Saurabh Singh Yadav, an IIT Kanpur graduate, is the GATE topper 2022 who received the top overall rank (AIR) 1 with a score of 77 out of 100 in the examination.

  • In order to become a GATE topper, the preparation strategy should be as follows:

    • Properly understand the syllabus and the weightage of each subject and topic.
    • Select appropriate books and study material for the preparation.
    • Plan the best timetable for preparation.
    • Follow up on the plan regularly.
    • Revise the important notes as much as possible.
    • Regularly keep doing mock tests.
  • An aspirant must spend at least 4 hours per day on average, it will take you 5 to 7 months for the GATE preparation. It is enough for getting the best score in GATE. And if your basics concepts are very clear then you might crack this exam with 2 or 3 months of hard preparation.

  • Candidates with a score above 700 in GATE 2022 have chances to secure admission in popular courses offered by IITs & NITs.

  • GATE Toppers' pay packages are determined by a variety of variables. Because GATE results are also utilised for PSU recruitment, a topper who joins a PSU can expect a salary of INR 12-30 lakhs per year. If he/ she wants to pursue MTech at an IIT or NIT, the salary package will be determined by MTech performance and interview.

  • The score calculation for GATE toppers 2022 entails score normalization for multi-session papers. The score is computed using raw marks (for single-session papers) and normalized marks (for multi-session papers) (out of 1000). These scores are used to determine rankings.
