GATE-JRF 2023: Know About the Stipend Details Here!

GATE-JRF Financial Assistance is given to the candidates who score good ranks in the GATE exam in support of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and other Agencies. The main purpose of the financial assistance is to support the students during the post-graduation and Doctorate to complete it without any financial issue. The basic requirement to secure Financial Assistance is to qualify for the GATE Exam. Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria to get financial assistance through GATE. Eligible candidates can apply directly for it on the official website. 

 

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) publishes an annual notice to select suitable candidates for the Junior Research Fellowship Program (JRF) via the GATE score. This is a great opportunity for applicants who have obtained their postgraduate degrees in Biotechnology, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Computer Science to apply to CSIR JRF GATE. Suitable candidates will be selected based on the interview and document verification process. After the selection, MHRD provides financial assistance to the selected candidates. GATE-JRF 2023: Financial Assistance

After qualifying for the GATE-JRF, the candidate will be accounted to get a non-variable scholarship to manage all the academic activities during the tenure. The tenure of the GATE-JRF program will be up to a maximum of 5 years, and the stipend will vary after 2 years. After completing the 2 years, the performance will be reviewed, and the JRF will be converted into SRF. If the candidate leaves the program in between then, their fellowship or stipend will be canceled. Initially, the fellоwshiр аmоunt is Rs 25000/-рer mоnth рlus HRА. In аdditiоn, соntingenсy grаnt оf Rs.20,000/- рer аnnum (саlсulаted оn рrо rаtа bаsis fоr frасtiоn оf а yeаr) is аlsо рrоvided. Further оn соmрletiоn оf twо yeаrs аs JRF-GАTE, the fellоwshiр mаy be uрgrаded tо SRF-GАTE аnd stiрend mаy be inсreаsed tо Rs. 28000/- рer mоnth in the subsequent yeаrs оn the bаsis оf аssessment аs рer СSIR JRF-NET guidelines. GATE-JRF 2023: Eligibility Criteria for Financial Assistance

Candidates need to be eligible to apply for the GATE-JRF Financial Assistance. Check all the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Applicants with a valid GATE score will be eligible for financial aid.
  • Those admitted to part-time courses cannot benefit from any scholarship/salary program provided by GATE.
  • Admissions before or after the validity of the GATE scorecard do not count towards the scholarship.
  • The name of the bank account and the name of the candidate must match.
  • Joint accounts are not allowed for the GATE exchange
  • The student must have general savings account at the bank. (Adornment account will not be accepted).
  • The student who receives a scholarship/salary or salary, etc. not eligible for a PG scholarship
  • Non-sponsored category students admitted with a valid GATE scorecard.
  • Creamy OBC applicants who have qualified in the OBC category are not eligible for the GATE Scholarship.
  • Qualified candidates under SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / physically disabled without authentic certificates are not eligible.
  • The GATE scholarship will be paid from the start date of the courses/admission date (if later) until the end of the courses/thesis delivery date.
  • Students admitted for the second time (to re-qualify for the GATE or GPAT exams) and who have benefited from the AICTE scholarship, or other centrally funded scholarships are not eligible for the GATE scholarship.

GATE-JRF 2023: Financial Assistance Application Process

Check the application process which needs to be completed for availing of the financial assistance of GATE-JRF. The application process is mentioned below:

  • Obtain the institution ID and student card from the institution.
  • After that, provide the necessary details to validate the student card.
  • Complete the PG GATE / GPAT Scholarship Application Form.
  • Upload the required documents to the portal only in PDF format.
  • Click the "Submit Button" after completing all the steps.

  • Adhar Card
  • Scorecard of GATE/GPAT.
  • Bank Passbook for the verification of the candidate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable).
  • A copy of the NCL - Non-Creamy Layer certificate will be required for OBC candidates.
