Admit card for GATE 2022 delayed – Official Notice

• IIT Kharagpur, the organizing body of GATE 2022, has not released any separate notification or announcement. However, they have run a small text conveying the new release date on the website. You can see the notice below.
• IIT Khargpur has issued a notice regarding the GATE 2022 admit card so that there is no hastiness regarding GATE 2022. The institute has, however, furnished no reason for this delay. Now that the admit card date has been altered.
• Applicants must note the steps to download once the link is finally activated on the official site.

How to Download GATE 2022 Admit Card

Step 1: Open the official website of GATE 2022 ie. gate.iitkgp.ac.in

Step 2: There is a notice on the right-hand side of GATE 2022 the notice stating admit card has been released.

Step 3: All candidates would then be required to log in through login ID and password using their credentials on the GATE portal.

Step 4: Once the admit card link is activated. Upon clicking on it, the admit card would be displayed in printable format.

Step 5:  Admit card would be mandatorily required to enter the exam hall. Candidates must download the admit card for GATE 2022 and take the printout of the admit card for entrance for GATE 2022.

GATE 2022 Admit Card Delayed, Why 

For the first time, the GATE admit card has been delayed and not released on the official announced date. Until two years ago, the admit card of the GATE exam used to be released a day in advance, i.e. the day before the official release date. Last year, the hall ticket was published on the release date mentioned in the GATE 2022 brochure, and this is for the first time that the hall ticket has been delayed.

Will GATE 2022 exam date be postponed?

There are assumptions that the GATE 2022 exam will be cancelled or postponed; however, they are only rumours until now. It is to be noted that IIT Kharagpur has cancelled the GATE 2022 exam in two cities – Sonepat and Panipat. This does not mean cancellation or postponement of the exam anywhere else.

Exam Day Guidelines pertaining to GATE 2022

1. Because of the pertaining COVID-19 pandemic situation, prospects will undergo a temperature check; they will be directed to maintain social distancing, wear a mask and use sanitizer.
2. Candidates will not be allowed to take any eatables inside, but diabetic students can take fruits inside the exam hall, not packaged food.
3. Candidates will not take electronic devices like mobile phones, health bands, earphones, calculators, or pen drives into the exam hall. Students will be checked through metal detectors at the main gate.
4. Candidates should carry admit cards at the exam centre, including valid photo identity proof, a PAN card, a driving license, an Aadhaar card, an Aadhaar enrollment form, a ration card, and a passport. However, a scanned photo of IDs in a mobile phone or photocopies of ID cards will not be considered valid photo ID proof.
5. To carry water in a transparent bottle, candidates can also carry a face mask, sanitiser in a transparent bottle, and a face shield.
