HTET Eligibility Criteria for Primary Teacher (Level - 1)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2007 notified on 31 August 2009. OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002. OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
- Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Senior Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.
HTET Eligibility Criteria for Trained Graduate Teacher (Level - 2)
- Graduation in the relevant discipline and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
- Graduation in relevant discipline with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
- Graduation in relevant discipline with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
- Graduation in relevant discipline with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
HTET Eligibility for Post Graduate Teacher (Level - 3)
- Post Graduate degree in concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.
- Passed Bachelor of Education from the recognized university.
- Matrics with Hindi & Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/ Graduation/ Post Graduation in Hindi as subjects and
- Consistent good academic record

4. What is the validity period of the HTET certificate?
Ans. The validity period of the HTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be 7 years from the date of declaration of result for all levels. Earlier the validity was for 5 years.
5. How many times can a Candidates attempt for HTET Exam?
Ans. There is no limit on the number of attempts for appearing in the HTET Exam. A person already qualified can also appear again for improving his/her score.
