By BYJU'S Exam Prep
Updated on: September 25th, 2023
The value of (16)3/4 is 8
Now we have to solve for the required value
Consider 163/4
We know that, 16=24
The above equation can be written as
∴163/4=(24)3/4
=24×34[∵(am)n=amn]
=23
⇒163/4=8
Hence, the value of (16)3/4 is 8

Exponents –
The way of representing huge numbers in terms of powers is known as an exponent. Exponent, then, is the number of times a number has been multiplied by itself.
Law of Exponents –
Adding exponents while maintaining the same base is the rule for multiplying like bases.
Exponents should be multiplied while bases are kept constant when bases are raised by a power of two or more.
Division Law: When dividing like bases, maintain the base constant and deduct the exponent of the denominator from the exponent of the numerator.
Rules of Exponents –
Exponents follow a set of rules that we use to address a variety of mathematical issues. The following list includes a few exponent rules.
Zero rule: Any number with a zero exponent is the same as one.
One Rule: Any number or variable with an exponent of 1 is the same as the original value.
Negative Exponent Rule: We can represent the number as follows if the exponent value is a negative integer:
a-k = 1/ak
Summary:-
Find the Value of 163/4
