Organic acids that are naturally occurring are known as natural organic acids.
They are neither created artificially in labs nor alternated after being gathered from natural resources.
Most of them are consumed by humans from their original sources.
Here are a few instances and sources of natural organic acid:
- Acetic acid is a natural substance found in vinegar that can also be produced synthetically in a lab.
- Malic acid in apples ( Apples contain malic acid, which is immediately ingested when eating apples).
- Grapes and tamarind: tartaric acid. The only organic, natural sources of tartaric acid are grapes and tamarind.
- Lactic acid, milk (Creating curd from milk naturally produces lactic acid)
- Lemon: Acidic citrus. Citric acid is naturally found in lemons.
- Ascorbic acid, tomato. (Ascorbic acid can be found naturally in organic tomatoes.)

Acids
The Latin word acidus or acere, which meaning sour, is where the word acid comes from. Their sour flavour is by far the most prevalent feature. Any substance that produces the ionizable hydronium ion (H3O+) in its aqueous solution is considered an acid. It makes red on blue litmus paper.
They are separated into two categories based on where they are found: natural and mineral acids.
- Natural Acids: These come from organic sources like fruits and animal byproducts. Citric, tartaric, and lactic acids, for instance.
- Mineral Acids: Acids made from minerals are known as mineral acids. Examples of this Hydrochloric acid (HCl), Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4), and nitric acid (HNO3), etc.
