FCI Depot Work Profile

AG III Depot in FCI is the beginning level clerical grade post. FCI AG III Depot is a pure field job. AG Depot is deployed at the field level and is required to maintain an environment wherein storage loss of food grains is minimal. He/She also supervises the issuance of food grains (PDS). Food grains are stored in the form of a stack in godowns and it is the duty of AG Depot to ensure that the stacks are maintained in standard form. FCI AG Depot also ensures that the stacks should not fall.

The routine duties are as follows:

• Assists superiors in sealing the godown locks
• Maintaining godown register (including checking watchmen on duty, supervising sweeping etc)
• Prepares daily and monthly issues and receipt reports.
• Maintains accounts of the dead stock and miscellaneous articles.
• Supervises labour gang, sweepers and sifters.
• Dispatches Mails.
• Attends godown activities (Receipt issues, Physical verification of stock, Loading-Unloading, Weighing & stacking).
• Prepares records such as weight sheets, convoy notes, truck chits, delivery memo etc

GROSS SALARY:

*X Class City:- 22,210

*Y Class City:- 21,280

PROMOTIONAL ASPECTS

Unlike the PSU jobs, there are no departmental exams being undertaken in FCI. Promotions are purely on seniority basis. Promotions hierarchy is as follows:-

• It might take a minimum of 3 years to get promoted from AG III Depot to AG II Depot.
• Then again a minimum of 3 years of service to become AG I Depot.
• After 4-5 years of service, AG I Depot is promoted to Manager.
• Manager becomes Assistant Depot Manager.
• Assistant Depot Manager becomes Deputy Depot Manager
• And lastly, Deputy Depot Manager becomes Depot Manager
