• Synonyms: lead, introduce, direct, predate
• Antonyms: follow, succeed, come after
• Usage in a sentence: It would be helpful if you were to precede the report with an introduction.

  a. give (someone or oneself) a different appearance in order to conceal one's identity. [Verb]
