(A) Geothermal energy

(B) Fossil fuels

(C) Biomass

(D) Any of the above.

Energy resources derived from natural organic materials are called fossil fuels. The term “fossil fuel” refers to underground flammable geologic deposits of organic elements that were once living but have decomposed into crude oil, coal, natural gas, or heavy oils over hundreds of millions of years under the heat and pressure of the earth’s crust.

Are Fossil Fuels Natural Energy Resources?

  • Humans’ use of fossil fuels for energy is the main cause of carbon dioxide emissions, one of the main greenhouse gases causing global warming.
  • When fossil fuels are used, they release more than simply carbon dioxide; the majority of the harmful nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide that cause smog (and respiratory ailments) on hot days are produced by vehicles driven by fossil fuels, such as cars, trucks, and boats.
  • Igneous rocks and metamorphic rocks hardly ever contain fossils.

Geothermal energy:

  • It is a renewable energy source, which means that mankind will never run out of it.
  • Additionally, it is a green form of energy because it doesn’t release harmful greenhouse gases to people’s health.
  • The rock and liquids beneath the Earth’s crust hold this thermal energy.
  • From shallow ground to several miles below the surface and even deeper still to the molten rock known as magma, it can be found.
  • Geothermal power plants can be classified as dry steam, flash, or binary.

Biomass:

  • A fuel source made up of organic elements called biomass.
  • It is often acquired from the following sources:
  • sources made of wood like logs, tree chips, building materials, or municipal garbage
  • non-woody lignocellulosic compounds, such as oils, sugar, starches, and starches.

Summary:

Energy resources derived from natural organic materials are called (A) geothermal energy (B) fossil fuels, (C) biomass (D) Any of the above.

Fossil fuels are energy sources made from organic natural elements i.e., decomposition of coal, crude oil, heavy oils, or natural gas. Some of them are renewables, and some of them are not.
