EMRS Job Profile, Responsibility and Salary 2023: An EMRS (Eklavya Model Residential School) teacher is responsible for providing quality education to students enrolled in EMRS, which are fully residential schools established for tribal students in India. The EMRS teacher plays a vital role in the overall development and well-being of the students, promoting academic excellence, cultural preservation, and personal growth.

To provide quality education to ST, students have been the main focus of the Ministry as educational development is a stepping-stone to economic and social upliftment and is also the most effective instrument for overall empowerment. In pursuance of the goal to impart quality education to ST students, Eklaya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) have been established which are co-educational residential schools from Class VI to XII.

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), an autonomous organization has been set up under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to establish and manage Eklaya Model Residential Schools across the country. NESTS has taken several initiatives in the recent past to improve the quality of education in the EMRSs. To ensure quality teaching in EMRSs, NESTS is conducting a special drive at the central level in association with the State Governments to fill up the vacancies of teaching staff.

Job Profile & Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL

Roles and Responsibilities:-

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the EMRS.
  • Oversee the overall administration and management of the school.
  • Develop and implement educational policies and programs that align with current educational standards and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students and staff.
  • Recruit, select, and evaluate teaching and support staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop a culturally sensitive and comprehensive curriculum.
  • Monitor curriculum implementation and academic progress of students.
  • Address student welfare, discipline, and behavioral issues, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Engage with parents, community members, and stakeholders to build positive relationships and involve them in the education process.
  • Manage the school's budget, resources, and facilities effectively.
  • Support the professional development of staff members and encourage a culture of continuous learning.
  • Promote the school's achievements, initiatives, and unique features to enhance its reputation and attract students.
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.

POST-GRADUATION TEACHER

  • EMRS stands for Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS). EMRS started in the year 1997-98 to impart quality education to ST children in remote areas in order to enable them to avail of opportunities in high and professional education courses and get employment in various sectors. The schools focus not only on academic education but on the all-around development of the students. Each school has a capacity of 480 students, catering to students from Class VI to XII.
  • EMRS Teaching Staff Selection Exam (ETSSE) will be conducted in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only. 

  •  The Qualification and Experience required for the Principal post:-


    1. Master's degree from a recognized university/institute, and

    2. B.Ed or equivalent degree from a recognized University, and

    3. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English mediums, and

    4. Persons working in any of the Govt. / Semi-Govt./Govt. recognized / CBSE affiliated Sr. Secondary (10+2) schools / Inter College. (a) Holding analogous post, or (b) Ten years of experience of teaching (Vice-principal / PGT / TGT) in a recognized high school/ Higher secondary school / Senior Secondary School/Intermediate college.

  • The Qualification and Experience required for the Vice Principal post:-


    1. Master's Degree from a recognized university/institution, and

    2. B.Ed or equivalent degree from a recognized University, and

    3. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English mediums, and

    4. 2 years’ experience of working on the post of PGT or lecturer at level 8 (Rs.47600-151100) in Central/ State Govt./Autonomous organization of central / State Govt.

    Desirable: 1. Three years’ experience in a fully residential school.

  • The duration of EMRS Teaching exams - is 180 minutes (03 hours).

  • The Objective of EMRS  is to provide quality upper primary, secondary and senior secondary level education to Scheduled Tribes (ST) students in remote areas to enable them to access the best opportunities in education and to bring them at par with the general population.
