What is the difference between IPM IIM Rohtak, Indore Exam pattern & Syllabus

IPMAT is an Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test conducted by IIM Indore/ Rohtak separately. IPMAT is a 5-year program that offers dual degrees i.e. BBA & MBA Degrees for the candidates who have passed class 12th. The first 3 years aim at building a foundation and the last 2 years focus on imparting management education.

Integrated Programme Management Aptitude Test is popularly known as IPMAT test is a National level test introduced by IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak. It was the first ingenious program of its kind in India, accredited by the Association of MBAs, London. It is the entree for admission of the aspirants to the Integrated Programme in Management offered at IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak. It provides an extraordinary chance to the students who wish to pursue their career in Business Management. This program motive at molding brilliant young students managerial and leaders. The procedure of conducting the exam is online accompanied by a Personal Interview (PI). 

Difference between IPMAT Rohtak and IPMAT Indore

IIM Rohtak: IPMAT Rohtak exam contains 3 sections that are Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability. After a few minutes break, WAT is conducted where candidates are asked to write a 250-word essay in 30 minutes. The total time allotted for IPMAT Rohtak will be 120 minutes.

IIM Indore: IPMAT Indore exam contains 3 sections that are Quantitative Ability (Short answer section and MCQ section) and Verbal Ability. The aspirants will be called for further WAT and PI after the selections are done from the IPMAT exam. The total time allotted for IPMAT Indore will be 90 minutes.

Marking Scheme

Both IPM Rohtak & IPM Indore follow a similar marking scheme which is +4 for the correct answer and -1 for the wrong answer. The only difference is that in IPM Indore there will be no negative marks for Quantitative Ability (short answers).

Application Fee

  • IPMAT Rohtak: The application fee of IPMAT Rohtak is Rs. 3890/- for the Generals category and for ST/SC the fees remains Rs 1770/-.
  •  IPMAT Indore: The application fee of IPMAT Indore is Rs. 4130/- for the General category and for ST/SC the fee is Rs 2065/-.

Quantitative Ability for IPMAT Indore

The Quantitative Ability section tests aspirants’ logical skills as well as the ability to analyze and solve problems in a fixed time. It is one of the subjects of the IPMAT that an aspirant can score if the aspirant has good mathematical skills as well as knowledge about formulae. The Standard of the questions will be of class 10th, 11th & 12th standard. In total, there are 30 questions and each question is of 4 marks.
