Arvind Kejriwal Announced the Process of Getting the CBSE Board Off the Ground from 2021

On Saturday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal approved the bill for the formation of a separate school board from the academic year 2021-22. He said in a press conference, most of the state government schools will be affiliated with the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) and in the next four-five years all the schools will be brought under it. The numbers of government schools that are affiliated to CBSE are 1000 while private schools are 1700 in numbers. The new board i.e., Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE), will have a governing body which would be headed by the Education Minister of the Delhi government, Manish Sisodia and the everyday activity will be monitored by the CEO, as per reports.

Also, the Delhi government is planning to start the new session in July, they said they have given a timeline with a more delayed start to the academic session, with the idea of beginning in July. The 2021-22 academic session of CBSE will start in April. The decision for the govt. schools will be taken after consultation with parents, principals, teachers, etc while in the case of private schools, the private school will have the option to get affiliated to DBSE or not. In an interview, Arvind Kejriwal said, that the DBSE will be aimed at imparting such education that prepares "fiercely patriotic" and "self-dependent students" who serve the society and the country in a selfless manner. Further, he added, the Board will bring in best international practices and high-end techniques in school education. It will impart education as per the aptitude of the students.

Shailendra Sharma, the principal advisor to the Directorate of Education, said the curriculum committee has submitted a set of recommendations till class VIII which is currently being studied. Curriculum for the secondary and senior secondary sections will need to be worked on now, he said.

The DBSE announcement will not only influence the education system in Delhi but will also have a deep impact on the education system of the country in the future. This education system will be responsible for suggesting the course and career of every child as per his aptitude and needs and teach him with emphasis on understanding, not through rote, and personality development,” the chief minister said.

Now, let's wait for the notification on the establishment of the new education board which can be expected soon.
