The Development Co-operative Bank Ltd was formed in 1981 when Ismailia Co-operative Bank Ltd and Masalawala Co-operative Bank Ltd merged. Later, Citi Cooperative Bank Ltd also amalgamated with Development Co-operative Bank Ltd. The Development Co-operative Bank Ltd was renamed Development Credit Bank Ltd in 1995.
