Central Sector Schemes
Government schemes are broadly categorised into two:
- Central Sector Schemes and
- Centrally Sponsored Schemes
Central Sector Schemes
- Central Sector Schemes are those schemes that are directly and completely (100%) funded and executed by the central government.
- These schemes are formulated by the Centre, based on subjects from the Union List.
- Also, there are some other programmes, which are directly implemented by various Central Ministries in States and UTs, comes under Central Sector Schemes.
- In these schemes, the financial resources are not transfered to states.
