    b. giving an authoritative command; peremptory. [Adjective]
    c. an essential or urgent thing. [Noun]
  • Synonyms: necessary, obligatory, requisite
  • Antonyms: nonessential, insignificant, needless
  • Use in a Sentence: In an organization, a prompt reply is imperative.

3. Word: Burgeon (बढ़ना)

  • Pronunciation: bur-juh n]/बर्जन
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: begin to grow or increase rapidly; flourish.
  • Synonyms: develop, expand
  • Antonyms: diminish, dwindle
  • Usage in a Sentence: Seeds begin to burgeon at the initiation of spring.

4.  Word: Adage (कहावत)

  • Pronunciation: ad-ij/ऐडिज
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. a wise saying
    b. a traditional saying expressing a common experience or observation; proverb

5. Word: Prejudice (पक्षपात)

  • Pronunciation: prej-uh-dis/प्रेजडिस
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason (Noun)
    b. any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable (Noun)
    c. unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, especially of a hostile nature, regarding an ethnic, racial, social, or religious group (Noun)
    d. damage or injury; detriment (Noun)
    e. someone or something that prejudices you influences you unfairly so that you form an unreasonable opinion about something (Verb)
  • Synonyms: bias, partiality, influence, discrimination
  • Antonyms: tolerance, fairness, justice, equity
  • Usage in a sentence: Laws against racial prejudice must be strictly enforced.

6. Word: Hue (विविध रंग/चिल्लाहट)

  • Pronunciation: hyoo/ह्यू
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. (a degree of lightness, darkness, strength, etc. of) a colour
    b. a different type or group
    c. form or appearance
  • Synonyms: shade, tone, tint, tinge
  • Antonyms: bleach, light
  • Usage in a sentence: In the Caribbean waters there are fish of every hue.

7. Word: Quagmire (दलदल)

  • Pronunciation: kwag-mahyuhr/क्वैग्माइअर
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: 
    a. a situation from which extrication is very difficult
    b. anything soft or flabby
    c. an area of miry or boggy ground whose surface yields under the tread
  • Synonyms: marsh,swamp, bog, mire
  • Usage in a sentence: At the end of the game, the pitch was a real quagmire.

8. Word: Callous (कठोर)

  • Pronunciation: kal-uhs/कैलस
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. unkind, cruel, and without sympathy or feeling for other people
  • Synonyms: heartless, insensitive, unfeeling
  • Antonyms: sensitive, kind, benevolent
  • Usage in a sentence: It might sound callous, but I don't care if he's homeless. He's not living with me!

9. Word: Transgression (आज्ञालंघन)

  • Pronunciation: trans-gresh-uh n/ ट्रैन्ज़्ग्रेशन
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: an act that goes against a law, rule, or code of conduct; an offence.
  • Synonyms: violation, infraction, infringement
  • Antonyms: obedience, adherence
  • Usage in a sentence: Their transgression was motivated by false consciousness.

10. Word: Inflict (थोपना)

  • Pronunciation: in-flikt/इन्फ्लिक्ट
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. to impose as something that must be borne or suffered
    b. to impose (anything unwelcome)
    c. to deal or deliver, as a blow
  • Synonyms: entail, force, impose, thrust
  • Antonyms: hold, keep, abstain, withhold
  • Usage in a sentence: These new bullets are capable of inflicting massive injuries.
