  • Pronunciation: tur-moil /टर्मॉइल

  • Meaning:
    a. a state of confusion, uncertainty, or disorder
  • Synonyms: disorder, commotion, disturbance
  • Antonyms: calm, peace, permanence
  • Usage in a sentence: The country is in a state of political turmoil.

3. Word: Sabotage (तोड़-फोड़ करना)

  • Pronunciation: sab-uh-tahzh/सैबटाश़
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. to injure or attack by sabotage (verb)
    b. any undermining of a cause (Noun)
  • Synonyms: wreck, destroy, undermine
  • Antonyms: fix, help, endorse
  • Usage in a sentence: The rebels had tried to sabotage the oil pipeline.

4. Word: Fidelity (ईमानदारी)

  • Pronunciation: fi-del-i-tee/फिडेलिटी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. honest or lasting support, or loyalty, especially to a partner
    b. the degree to which the detail and quality of an original, such as a picture, sound, or story, is copied exactly
  • Synonyms: faithfulness, loyalty, allegiance
  • Antonyms: treachery, faithlessness
  • Usage in a sentence: The best ink-jet printers can reproduce photographs with amazing fidelity.

5. Word: Demeanour (आचरण)

  • Pronunciation: dih-mee-ner/ डिमीनर
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: outward behaviour or bearing.
  • Synonyms: manner, air, attitude, appearance, conduct
  • Antonyms: deter, indecency, annihilation, indisposition
  • Usage in a Sentence: While not exactly threatening, her demeanour was hard and off-putting.

6. Word: Benign (दयालु)

  • Pronunciation: bih-nahyn/ बिनाइन
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. gentle and kind.
    b. (of a disease) not harmful in effect.
  • Synonyms: benevolent, sympathetic
  • Antonyms: hostile, malignant
  • Usage in a Sentence: The results of this medicine are fairly benign.

7. Word: Faction (उपद्रवी दल)

  • Pronunciation: fak-shuhn/ फैक्शन
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: a small organized dissenting group within a larger one, especially in politics.
  • Synonyms: party, group, sect
  • Antonyms: unity, conformity, agreement
  • Usage in a Sentence: A rebel faction has split away from the main group.

8. Word: Expediency (मुनाफ़ा)

  • Pronunciation: ik-spee-dee-yan-see/इक्स्पीडीअन्सी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. doing what is convenient or profitable rather than what is morally right.
  • Synonyms: suitable, benefit, convenience
  • Antonyms: altruism, inexpediency, unsuitable
  • Use in a Sentence: It seems political expediency, rather than absolute economic need, will determine who gains from the conflict.

9. Word: Patriarch (कुलपति)

  • Pronunciation: pey-tree-ahrk/ पेट्रीआर्क 
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: the male head of a family or tribe
  • Synonyms: master, chief, superior
  • Antonyms: matriarch, offspring
  • Usage in a Sentence: I thought of myself as a patriarch, dispensing words of wisdom to all my children.

10.Word: Churn (मन्थन करना)

  • Pronunciation: churn/ चर्न
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: 
    a. (with reference to liquid) move or cause to move about vigorously.
    b. break up the surface of (an area of ground).
  • Synonyms: shake, stir, swirl, agitate
  • Antonym: freeze
  • Usage in a sentence: We stood on the dock and watched the ocean churn.
