3. Word: Churn (मन्थन करना)

  • Pronunciation: churn/ चर्न
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: 
    a. (with reference to liquid) move or cause to move about vigorously.
    b. break up the surface of (an area of ground).
  • Synonyms: shake, stir, swirl, agitate
  • Antonym: freeze
  • Usage in a sentence: We stood on the dock and watched the ocean churn.

4.  Word: Daunting (चुनौतीपूर्ण)

  • Pronunciation: dawnting/डॉन्टिंग
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. seeming difficult to deal with in prospect; intimidating
  • Synonyms: scary, intimidating, frightening
  • Antonyms: encouraging, approachable
  • Usage in a sentence: The country was faced with the daunting prospect of overcoming four decades of division.

5. Word: Anguish (संताप)

  • Pronunciationang-gwish/ ऐंगग्विश
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning
    a. severe mental or physical pain or suffering. (Noun)
    b. be extremely distressed about something. (Verb)
  • Synonyms: distress, misery, agony, torment, suffering
  • Antonyms: joy, happiness, comfort, cheer
  • Usage in a Sentence: He suffered the anguish of watching his son go to prison.

6. Word: Enormous (विशाल/दीर्घाकार)

  • Pronunciation: ih-nawr-muhs /ईनॉर्मस

  • Meaning:
    a. greatly exceeding the common size, extent, etc.; huge; immense
    b. outrageous or atrocious
  • Synonyms: huge, immense, gigantic, colossal

7. Word: Confiscate (जब्त करना)

  • Pronunciation: kuhn-fis-kit/कान्फिस्केट
  • Part of Speech: Verb, Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. to seize as forfeited to the public domain; appropriate, by way of penalty, for public use (Verb)
    b. to seize by or as if by authority; appropriate summarily (verb)
    c. seized or appropriated, as for public use (Adjective)
  • Synonyms: seize, impound, expropriate
  • Antonyms: give, offer, relinquish
  • Usage in a sentence: His passport was confiscated by the police to prevent him from leaving the country.

8. Word: Fray ( झगड़ा)

  • Meaning: a situation of intense competitive activity, a battle or fight.

  • Pronunciation: sturn/ स्टर्न

  • Meaning:
    a. firm, strict, or uncompromising:
    b. rigorous or austere; of an unpleasantly serious character:
  • Synonyms: hard, harsh, severe

10. Word: Brush Aside (नज़रअंदाज़ करना)

  • Meaning: to refuse to accept that something is important or true
  • Pronunciation:  ब्रश असाइड
